Benzema might be the perfect team playing 9. When needed, took a step back and was the provider (hence why he ended up being Madrid's all time leader in assists), but when needed to be THE GUY, he did not disappoint.

Rooney has a bigger variety to his game (which is why he was able to play midfield and on the wings etc), but as an all round 9, being able to be the provider, the linkup player and the lethal goalscorer in any game and willing you team to win it's Benzema for me, had the perfect balance of both.

Di Maria doesn't get appreciated enough... Argentina lost A world Cup Final and Copa America without him But on his return he scored in 3 of their finals won (2 being game winners) and 1 (WC) scored first goal and won a controversial penalty for Argentina to go 2-0 up Legend...

Rooney was always top 5 and never top 3, that's why his perception is like he is rated when he is, to start your career at top 5 with the likes of Ronaldinho, Henry and Zidane in everyone's mind, and finish as top 5 with Messi and Ronaldo smashing records, Lewandowski, Suarez, Neymar, Aguero, Kane, Ibrahimovic.. the fact Rooney maintained a top 5 level is a credit in itself

Malouda is the example of Chelsea's success not working, the way they cycle managers, you go from player of the season contention one year, to forgotten and dropped the next, 2 years later Malouda couldn't even get on the bench and when he eventually moved on he was still just as good.. its similar but not as brutal at City, but Chelsea had a reputation for wasting talent, Malouda got the chances that Salah and De Bruyne never got, bur the next manager came in and the chances where passed on to the next batch of signings, Streets will never forget about Malouda 👐

Great video guys. I just wanted to say that 102/119 stat from Vini/Benzema is misleading. They had an amazing year but assisted each other in their goals. Use the principles of inclusion and non-inclusion and you will understand. Also, as a Milan fan, Robinho was the actual sidekick to Zlatan in 10/11.

I wouldn’t say Rooney or Benzema were sidekicks, they were irreplaceable to those teams and showed they could lead their team to glory as the main star, once the other stars left (CR7, Tevez, Bale etc.) Fergie was calm to let Tevez, CR7, Keane, Beckham leave, but he had a problem when Rooney wanted to because he knew he was the spine. Perez called Benz the French R9, he knew Benz was the most important out of the BBC front 3.
