quite honestly, one of the best we've ever had. remember watching the City game with THAT goal, remember watching the hattrick in the 8-2 vs Arsenal, absolute legend that will probably be overlooked worldwide because of the dominating rivalry between Messi and Ronaldo. this doesn't apply to just Rooney either, there's players that don't get their due because of the rivalry between Messi and Ronnie like Robben, Ribery, Totti, Bale, Van Persie, Henry, some of the best ever, and in my opinion, as a United fan and after watching him play for over ten years at the club, Rooney tops the lot

People say about the greatest teams of all time, Peps Barcelona, Wengers invincibiles, the United treble winners, France 98, Spain 2002, any Madrid side, but Van Der Sar, Vidic, Ferdinand, Scholes, Neville, Giggs, Park, Tevez, Hargreaves, Rooney and Ronaldo. They took the game to a new level. To be better than that Barcelona side, to go toe to toe with the thugs of that Chelsea squad and Maureen and come out European champions in what was probably the hardest champions league year for a long time. Beautiful team to watch and an absolute joy to see them play at old Trafford. I saw them play Arsenal that year and they absolutely trounced them. Everyone stood around me at old Trafford commented on the atmosphere and we knew we was seeing something very very special. Great player, great team. Shame how things have been fucked up so badly around money. Rooney could have played for any team and made them nigh on impossible to win. A complete player that I believe can and should be mentioned in the same breath as Pirlo, Zidane and Scholes. Legend

Like when we went 1-0 down to palace in the fa cup final and he gets us back in the game by dribbling past 8 players like they wernt there. Also when he raped totenhams defence apart and ko celebration. The guy is just a class apart on his day. Its a shame to watch how his declined so much. What a Legend and What a Player. Deserved more appreciation and respect. I dont give a shit what he done off the pitch because he was always there in important times to produce the moments of genius. Thanks Wayne. You will always have a place at man utd. Your a warrior with huge passion for the game.
