@StevenRice2 жыл бұрын
that... is not correct at all. It was in the original theatrical release, then afterward Zeppelin and WMG denied any music being used even a few notes - the director was then told they played too many notes in that scene, like anything more than 2 notes would be 100k - and they had to edit in something different REALLY quick - like insanely quick - to where if you caught it in its LATER theatrical run, stairway wasn't in it. All VHS/DVD versions have the non-stairway music in it - but you can find a faked edit that restores the original gag with the first 4 notes of stairway.

When Mike Myers played the EMI executive Ray Foster in the Freddie Mercury biopic Bohemian Rhapsody (2018), he's dubious about releasing 'Bohemian Rhapsody' as a single. He states, "What about 'I'm in Love with My Car'? I love that! That's the kind of song teenagers can crank up the volume in their cars and bang their heads to...Bohemian Rhapsody will never be that song." My preferred SNL era was late 80s to early 90s. Van down by the river, makin' copies, choppin' broccoli, church lady, etc. But yes, it's very highly dependent on the simple fact of when in your life you had time to watch SNL live. I didn't watch it at all during the 2000s so many of those bits go over my head and seem lame, but I'm sure if I was a different age it would be a different story. I really don't think Emily should feel an ounce of guilt of doing the doodily-doodily transition, because the whole point of the joke is that it's emulating old-school film effects, it's not something that Wayne's World specifically invented. (I mean, yes, they made up the idea of saying it out loud but that's just, like, every joke/reference.)

You mentioned Paul Reed Smith guitars. I work in logistics and at a former company we did work with them. I once arranged delivery for a guitar from Neal Schon from the plant. I was also able to tour the plant one. Very cool!

When this came out my sister gave it to me on VHS as a gift. My friend became obsessed with it and wanted to come to my house and watch it almost every day for a whole summer.

This was near the end of Rob Lowe's time as a standard actor, right before he started to become America's sweetheart. Hard to see him as a scumbag; it just doesn't work. Same as when he was in Tommy Boy. And after reading his books, I'm an even bigger fan.
