I’ll admit I personally have no issue with how Gotham looks in Arkham Knight, I think each of the three districts in the game have a distinct style and serve the purposes of the game but this is a pretty neat project you’re working on.

The thing is, AK is about to be ten years old, granted it still looks better than most modern games. It is a decent representation of the city that serves the purpose of the game. It really is small though. Densely packed. But really, really small.

So refreshing to see the Arkham City skyline get the love and praise it deserves! Arkham Knight's city was mechanically fantastic in its design for gameplay, but there was a distinct lack of identity lost within its gamification. The devs had no idea how desperately we all wanted a game where we could ACTUALLY glide through the grandiose skyline without needing to use the freeze grenade glitch in Arkham City! Wishing you the absolute best in your KZbin career, I'm sure you're going to nail it!

I always loved that version of Gotham in Arkham City - I remember watching videos on how to glitch out of the map and explore the surrounding city; it had this surreal pull, this larger than life aura because of how grand and dramatic it all was, and in my child mind playing Arkham City, I couldn't help but think of what laid beyond it and what was happening out there...I wanted to go into it. I was disapointed with Arkham Knight's map, not because it was bad or anything - it works really well as a depiction of Gotham - , but I was hoping for this explorable space with towering skyscrapers looming overhead, where you could perch upon and watch the city go by and the descend into the darkness below, the dark and crooked alleyways and chaotic streets. I remember on the Wayne Manor challenge map on Arkham City that there was a model of the Gotham from the game, with actual buildings, which I always found cool - it made it more real and plausible.

This is such a cool concept, but maybe instead of a re-imagining of just Arkham Knight, this eventually could evolve into a concept for a totally new open world Arkham Game set in the entirety of Gotham. I think that’s the one thing this great series has yet to fulfill, a comprehensive Batman experience set over multiple nights, and it’s up to fans generate enough support for some studio to actually green light something like this. You already have a concept map for all of Gotham, imagine a game where you could patrol that entire map, From Wayne manor, to the central islands, Gotham north, south, the suburbs, barrier islands, the Asylum, and the sea gate amusement park. Like a living breathing version of Gotham with citizens, random crime, a plethora of side missions and an over arching story that isn’t condensed into a single night. It’s bold but with the passion people have so this series i think it’s possible

I've always really loved the idea of Gotham having a lot of verticality. Like you said, just building on top of whats already there like in Founders island. but what if you were to push this idea even further... Imagine extremely old gothic buildings with progressively more modern/futuristic elements tacked on as you reach the top. Have walkways and streets 10 stories high so at the top its this crazy futuristic utopia but when when you go all the way to the bottom it's still untouched from like 100 years ago and every floor represents a different decade. And maybe even have new buildings that don't even reach the ground floor because they were built so recently. but have the walkways and stuff spaced out far enough that you can still see all of this in one go (and are able to easily grapple to the top of a building as batman ofc)

When you get to the clocktower, remember to not have office chairs at the computer desks. The designers forgot that detail when making a Birds of Prey Easter egg on the lower floor, where you discover Oracle’s workstation. I work in an office myself and had to put a “♿️ Parking Only” sign at my desk to stop the weekend cleaning crew from putting a chair in my way! 😂

Hello, i had a question about the skyline. With the Origins map has everything south of Arkham City been retconned? Such as buildings like the towering Gotham City Bank, the smaller GCN building, and the W&M building? The whole borough was referred to as 'New Gotham' so you could claim those buildings were constructed after Origins, perhaps Bruce invested in the area soon after. Are there also plans for other noticeable skyline buildings? Including the main GCN tower, the set of connected towers between GCN and Wayne Ent? The Gotham City Hall and City Centre Buildings, that weird modern looking building with the Arkham Logo to the North and the Wonder Tower shaped building next to the Arkham Island bridge. Some interesting world-building could be the areas north of Amusement Mile having structural reinforcements and braces that have clearly been unceremoniously welded onto the buildings, as a precaution against earthquakes like the one that sunk Amusement Mile. Lastly, in Arkham City, there were seemingly smaller commercial buildings in the district for some companies like ACE Chemicals and Bank of Gotham. A few more small commercial buildings out in your map could offer some interesting world-building for these companies, Who had to abandon their previous buildings when the compulsory purchases for Arkham City occurred, and now these new buildings are covered in scaffolding as renovations are at varying stages of completion, not helped by the old buildings in Arkham City being returned to their owners and resources being diverted to restore them. Some fun contrast could be found in small commercial buildings for companies that didn't have buildings in Arkham City, Gothcorp, GCN, Galaxy Broadcasting and so on being well kept in comparison.

-Arkham Origins area does exist, none of it has been retconned, it just doesn't fit on this map. -There will be plenty of notable skyline buildings, probably not exactly taken from the AC background tho. It's not meant to resemble that version exactly. -Reinforcements is a cool idea. -I will keep the commercial buildings idea in mind.

It was more with a view to making a sequel to arkham origins and having a game where you can visit all the places in the arkham saga but adding extra districts to link everything together.

I can understand the want to change up the city. Batman really works best in a gothic setting, and the original Arkham game did a great job of conveying that while so including contemporary technology, but the balance kinda shifted when we got to Knight thanks to the pressures of living up to the new generation of consoles available at the time.

I love the design of arkham knight’s gotham but the issue I have with it, that its vertically isn’t the same as arkham city’s at the background, what also can be a cool and astonishing add to skyscrapers is the ones from gotham knights, I like how each building has its own color hitting the clouds and creating a futuristic type of visuals to it, that would nice if you add it to your project, liked and subcribed can’t wait to see more in the future👏🏻💯

Slightly reminds me of Saints Row 3 and 4's map. Although giving the scope, I think the map in GTA 4 is closer; Lego Batman 2 also had a cool map. The canceled Project Apollo Batman game also gives off the Arkham City, Gotham background vibes.
