Its a bad system, and now that society has been rebuilt, and the living conditions for most people have stagnated, people are confronting it.

I think the part with Wayne and the school is supposed to show us how immature and selfish Wayne is. He is definitely focusing on his guilt, and not how his actions impact the girl and her family. I do hope for a redemption arc, or some kind of maturing on Wayne’s part.
