I'm 63 and have found all of your tutorials helpful because you provide not only instruction but also explanations that allow your subscribers to interpret for their own facial characteristics. I think that using black shadow at the base of the lashes has been the tip that has helped me most, along with the hooded eye tutorial. I am being treated for cancer at the moment and I'm currently bald due to chemotherapy. It really helps to be able to make the most of my make up application so that when people look at me, they see a bald beauty rather than a cancer victim. Keep up the good work.

All the best to you, darlin'! You seem to have a wonderful attitude, and in my opinion (and experience), that is more than half the battle. The mind and body do have amazing potential, and of course we can't just WISH ourselves better, I believe that our attitudes and frame of mind will most certainly have some kind of an effect on our bodies - both negative and positive! I'm pretty sure that watching Wayne's videos also helps with your positive attitude as well! Not only is info absolutely invaluable, he's also such a positive person himself! I know that I've never watched a single one of his videos that didn't make me smile. 😊 He's always very upbeat and shows a true passion for his craft - it just seems to rub off on his viewers! Plus, he's most definitely easy on the eyes 😊😉! Anyway, I wish you all the best in your recovery and hope that you have a wonderful day! 🍻🍷🌞☺

The best advice I learned, I read in an article about anger management. The scenario was that a person was in a hurry to get to work. He got behind a woman who was moving more slowly than he liked. They came to a stop light, and he saw the woman gesturing to someone in the back seat. The light turned green, and she didn't go. He started honking and swearing and yelling at her. She jumped out of the car and was clearly very frantic. She reached into the back seat and grabber her toddler child who was choking on something. The moral being: You never know what someone else is going through. So calm yourself and have a little compassion. The author called this scenario BIBS (baby in the back seat). I told my kids this at the time, and now, all I have to say is "Bibs" if they're being judgmental. Sorry this is so long, but it had a big effect on me.

That’s a really great story. Great advice. I take it the baby was okay... Reminds me of the time when I was driving to find shoes for a funeral for my boyfriend at the time. He had suddenly passed because of sleep apnea. Anyway I was about to miss my turn to get to the store. So I hurried and got in front of the person beside me but then I had to slam on the brakes to turn (after the fact I realized that I should have slowed down.) I was an emotional mess and I am sure the person in the other car was pissed (they honked.) I still feel like an idiot for that mistake but I think it was at least slightly understandable considering the situation. The store was closing soon and I had to drive about 8 hours the next day. I was panicking. Still embarrassed at least 10 years later...

I got this from my daughter. Replace negation words with other phrases. "I don't like lima beans" becomes, "I prefer black beans or "I can't run a five k", might be, "I can walk in a five k." It's a subtle change, but with practice and over time, it forces the thought process to become more positive. Thought determines action.

That's similar to something my mom always corrects me on. Me complaining: "I have to _______ (undesirable action)" "No, you mean, 'you GET to ______', some people can only wish they were able to ________!" It really changes your perspective!

I'm terribly late to this, but I got this advice from my father: "Get an education, hang up your shingle (establish a career is what he meant) and never depend on a man to take care of you. Including me." Bonus: "Always say thank you. Always remember to express gratitude when someone does something for you."

When I was 9 years old my Dad told me for the first time, "If you don't take care of yourself no other SOB will." I thought, "But you're my Dad!" And, being a kid he was suppose to take care of me. He did. As I grew up, he'd tell me this ever so often. Once I became an adult I understood he was right. People can help at times but ultimately you have to take care of yourself, be independent and self sufficient.

I taught my daughter since about three years old. Women grow up, and a lot of them look to get married for him to take care of her. Marry for love. Two... You have to take care of yourself. Don't depend on anyone. Even the best person. Even your husband. Things happen. And if you count on them, you'll be sadly disappointed. Even if you're married.. don't put all your eggs in one basket. In other words. Keep your money to yourself. Don't lose your identity. Lots of women do. We are way underappreciated. Today... She's a PhD. She's looking for jobs now. But she's pretty smart.. she should get recognized. Still not married.

I became unable to walk and most of my days are spent at home in a chair. For a few years I couldn't deal well with what I was going through, I felt useless, worthless, and lonely. One Sunday, I was listening to a talk and the man who was speaking, I can't remember his name, said, "When you can't do what you've always done, do what's most important". I began looking at my life realizing that there was still important things I could do from where I sat!

I read in an elimination diet guide that a lot of people who have to go on elimination diets fail because they focus on all the foods they miss rather than focus on all the foods they can still have, and eventually cave. Totally changed my mindset (I have a lot of sensitivities). Instead of focusing on what I cannot do, I focus on what I -can-! In a weird way, having certain restrictions has honed my skills in ways they otherwise would never have been honed. I've taken that mantra to all aspects of my life, not just diet. I also say as a mantra, do what you can, when you can. We can't do all the things all the time.

Thank you for doing so much about hooded eyes!! My eyes are so hooded you can't see any lid at all when I'm looking straight on and I know it's just going to get worse (I'm only in my early twenties). I've learnt more from this channel than from all the other beauty vloggers put together. The best advice I've ever gotten was from my mum: never become financially dependent. She was a successful accountant before I was born, but stopped working after she had me. No prenup, no separate accounts, etc. When my parents divorced, she was left with next to nothing, a one-bedroom apartment she could barely afford, lawyer bills she couldn't pay, and a resume with the last entry from the mid-90s. Even if you choose to depend on someone else financially, take precautions.

I have several that I absolutely live by: *Do not anticipate things that may or may not happen (this one is for all the anxiety or worry ridden folks) *True friendship is only revealed in an act of kindness that gains someone NOTHING, not even personal recognition or in fact may even cost them to do it. Remember: NICE does NOT equal KIND and there IS a difference!!!! *When someone wrongs or hurts you, dont internalize that, you dont deserve to be stuck with the baggage and they dont deserve to have that much control over your mind! (A teacher gave me this bit of advice after I was raped and it helped me greatly to heal and keep perspective/on track)

The best advice I ever got was from my 5th grade teacher. He said, “question everything”. Even if it is your parents, always verify with facts and look into things to form your own opinions. This is great advice and has served me throughout my life. I do not take people’s word on other people either. Form your own opinions and thoughts. Teachers that teach you about life beyond school subjects are the best!

I have been married for 36 years. My husband is one who questions everything. At times this makes me angry, because it seems he is undermining me. For most of the things I tell him, I have to build up a court defense to prove that I know what I’m talking about. Another example: when I put something unusual in the recycling bin, he examines it to see if it should be thrown out. This irritates me, making me feel that my judgement can’t be trusted, or that I am stupid and can’t think for myself. So while I, too, have a curious nature and want to know, one should be careful not to overstep another’s ability to reason and make sound decisions for themselves without being put through drilling questions .

Sometimes parents simply don't have the time or energy to build up a court case to satisfy kid's critical thinking. Or certain things are inappropriate for the kids age to get into explaining. So it would be nice if kids trust their parents every now and then. Especially when there's no history of abuse.

Regarding your question, if you're using colors that are Opaque, this really won't work. The best piece of advice I received from a foreign stranger sitting next to me in an audience at a film taping. "You don't have to be perfect, just be. A rose isn't trying to be a perfect rose, it's just being a rose, and it's beautiful." From this I distilled the phrase, "it doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to be." It has become my mantra, and saw me through college, all those imperfect, passing papers. Whenever I feel stagnate, that stranger comes to mind.

When we adopted our boys last year we had a hard time with our oldest. Well, he had a hard time with himself and we couldn't help him. My dad, who always minds his own business because the sweetheart just can t relate to women😂 told me, when i called him crying my eyes out, throw out all the books, forget everything you learned at the adoptionclasses and be his mother. You were matched for a reason. Look at him and give him what he needs. And i did, and our dynamic changed, he changed. And everytime i doubt myself on the "being a mother departement" i remember that phonecall.

Good luck. Im an adoptee and it just hurts tho I love my adoptive parents oh and don’t make the mistake and keep it from the kids. I found out in my early 20s and it changed everything! Be honest. Allow them to grieve cause you can’t replace the mother. But you can be yourself and be there for them but allow them to grieve. They’ve lost their mother. They deserve to grieve and it has nothing to do with being unthankful. That’s my adviser for you

You must be special in your industry to keep me watching. I never used make-up until my late 40's. But age is devouring me. This is the second video this morning I am watching because I felt make-up was bringing out my lines as you confirmed. I also have sad eyes. That's what I call your hooded eyes. To me, they droop to look sad. Thank you for sharing these tricks I never heard of before. The best advice I ever received was to look in the mirror if you want to change the world. Best bit of advice came from my mom during an unpleasant social time at school when unkind things were being said to me & about me & I was very disheartened. She said " honey, consider the source." Later in life I learned to not take the actions of others so personally. It's not always easy & at 13 it was almost impossible unfortunately. But "consider the source" is much kinder than being told you're too thin skinned & now, sitting here at 58 years of age, I appreciate that advice & sensitivity from my mom.

Oooo, lots of good advice right here from you and your wonderful subscribers, Wayne! The best advice I was given: 1 (non-makeup related) Always learn from your mistakes. You will definitely make them, and try not to make the same mistake more than once. 2 (professional/work-related) Don’t burn your bridges, you never know when you’ll come across people again in different circumstances. 3 (makeup) that trick you just did with black eye shadow as liner, and tightlining! When my eyelashes were gone or beginning to grow back after chemo these helped me to feel that it was less noticeable (and still do today because they didn’t all grow back great,) and that I had/have thick, luscious eyelashes. Love you Wayne and Love this community! 💕

Wayne💖, The BEST bit of advice I have EVER been given was by my Father who was a handsome, cheeky man and I miss him dearly 💙. Every time I would say "I can't do this" he would always say to me. "There is no such word as CAN'T". "You CAN do anything if you put your mind to it. Think about that." And he meant it. When I was young I was like "yeah, right....". Then i n my late 20's, I figured it out. He was right. Honestly. If someone really wants to do something bad enough, they will make it happen:). My Father was highly intelligent and very impulsive. Lol. He did things in his life that people have a hard time believing. But all of his stories were true and his lessons in life that he learned the hard way, I was lucky enough that he passed them on to me so I can teach my children and so on....😚😚. I am so happy you did this look!! I have hooded "mature" (aka, old as chit) eyes and I have been doing my inner corner highlight as you have here and bringing it up into the very corner of the mobile lid:). I absolutely LOVE the way it opens up and elongates my eye😚. You are so friggin funny. "Because I am old".😂😂😂. You are still so young!! It's only a number anyways. I am 51 going on 28 mentally. Honestly. Lol. Not in a "trying too hard" kind of way where it's inappropriate. Lol 😂. I just don't feel (therefore look) my age. People think my Grandson is my son. Lmao💙😂💙😂💙. It really is a state of mind. You are young and a beautiful person from the inside out!!😚

Great advice. My eyes look a lot more alive now. :0) My daughter made an eyeshadow that is so great and versatile for pressing into the upper lid, even for eyebrows. It isn't harsh, either. Thank you for not only sharing your knowledge, but keeping your audience looking as natural as possible, allowing their own beauty to shine through. That is so important in the days of Instagram filters, Photoshop, and other things to phony us up so that we don't appreciate who we are anymore. One of the best bits of encouragement I've ever received is "You never know where a seed you plant may grow". Well regarding the best advice I got in life, was from my mother (who I miss immensely) , who always taught me: "if you don't have anything good to say about a person , then say nothing " . She also taught me , that before you open your heart to someone, you need to look at theirs first, because half of the people don't care about your problems , and the other half would make fun of it. This leading, that only a few people in your life , could be a soul friend. Have a great day, and GB .

Could you maybe do a video where you get a few models with different/‘problematic’ eye shapes/concerns & show how to do the same eye look eg. smokey eye, cat eye etc on the different eyes? I think that would be super helpful! So often I see tutorials by girls with big, beautiful eyes with so much lid space etc & I have no idea how to convert that particular look to suit my hooded eyes. I feel you completely! My eyes were always hooded but as I have aged (in my 50s) the lid doesn't really show.

My best advice ive gotten that worked for me is ..this vid..right here where you. Showed how to do the hooded eye..I love the way that you did that thing everyone does with the white blob..just there at the tear Duct big day tommorrow for me..I am going to try it..Thank you so much you had mentioned about doing ...no glitter shadow before..yos i am two years over 50..and since i stay away from the glitters looking back..at most my adult movies and how my make up artist used to apply my Shadow looked great but now at my age..Ive taken your advice and i cannot wait to go to sleep and try all your advice on myself when i start to get ready for my big Day..thank you"

MrsBungle78 Agree. This tutorial is useless as he has perfect eyes and it does not assist us hooded eye folk.

The best advice my Mom gave me was “Kindness is contagious “. Always, always begin and end with kindness. You never know what someone may be going through or what challenges they are dealing with. I have found that the vast majority of people I’ve encountered throughout my lifetime are inherently kind. Certainly there are individuals that require an extra measure of patience and faith in ones humanity, but I have found most people eventually respond to kindness with kindness, even if that is not their natural inclination. Like my dear late Mother taught me, it’s contagious💜. Cheers Wayne🥂

Best advice came from my gorgeous late grandmother: “Don’t marry for money. Just hang around the rich until you fall in love.” 😅 In all seriousness, it really meant if you plan to commit yourself to someone else for the rest of your life, make sure it’s for the right reasons. 💘

This is the only beauty channel on KZbin that has helped me feel more informed, more confident, and overall more appreciative of my own natural beauty. Thank you, Wayne! You help me *understand* makeup, my eye shape, and that I dont have to cover myself up with layer upon layer upon layer upon layer. I cant believe how drasticly different that inner corner highlight is. You've been an invaluable resource. 🖤

We’ve all had the privilege and/or misfortune to receive so much well intended advice in our lives. There are a few pieces of advice or words of wisdom that have been passed along and one quote that have never failed me. First, don’t give up what you want most for what you want now. Next, wait 24 hours before getting mad and reacting about anything. If it doesn’t bother you in 24 hours time, it probably isn’t important enough to get mad over. And, lastly, the quote “Stand before the people you fear and speak your mind-even if your voice shakes.” - Maggie Kuhn

The best advice I ever got was from my Nana . She told me when I was 15 that if I didn’t wanna look like her I would wear a big hat. She told me to not ever let the sun hit my face for any length of time. I’m almost 51 now and I am so glad that I took her advice back then. No amount of sunscreen will do as well as a big hat providing shade over your face. And thank you for all your videos. I just recently found your channel and subscribed and I’m really enjoying all the videos

Own your mistakes, learn from them and show through your actions that you have learned better is the best advice I ever got. Meaning take responsibility for your mistakes don't just say sorry and expect to be forgiven.
