@jaynedoe35295 жыл бұрын
@@kellyfrye3681 You can do it, you just have to practice and adapt the technique to your eye. The biggest thing is to make sure you go out like, he was holding the stencil, with your eyeliner. Do not try to wing it up bc it won't work on your eye. Also get an eyeliner like eyeko that has a firm pen type tip. Don't try to use the others with the flimsy brushes bc you will have to use more strokes which will mess it up. Draw a straight line directly out first at that angle to start the wing. Do not line your eye and then try to draw the wing. It's really hard to explain, but once you get it down you can do it on your eye. it also looks better in my opinion than the wings that point up

Hey Wayne! I’d love to see a “How to use shimmers on a hooded eye” tutorial. I’m never sure if I should keep them in my lid or go above the crease. I have such a small lid as it is, it doesn’t make much of an impact if I just do the lid. But I know some say foil shadows above the lid can enhance the hood. Would love to hear your thoughts! Thx 😘

I can’t remember the KZbinr. But she did a tutorial on shimmers for hooded eyes. She said a cut crease is a hooded eyes best friend. Where your shimmers transfer to is the perfect guide on where you want to bring it up to, because then it’s visible. The concealer underneath helps hold it in place and stop it from creasing! So you put the concealer on the middle of your lid and then look up. Where the concealer transfers to that’s where you cut the crease at..... ETA: it was Angela bright!

I've seen and I've used it on myself for awhile, like what GOSS did with the shadow. They line it to the tip of their ears instead of going up to your temple. So that it goes out rather then up. Giving you that elongated sexy look then giving you a stumped cut, as I noticed it tends to curve with my hood anyways with you look at yourself at eye-level depending on how leveled my liner was. So the more straight I do mind the less curve I get. I have small hooded eyes but this technique has really helped.

I can't tell you the amount of tutorials I've seen for hooded eyes that say to never put eyeliner on the lower lashline, don't line your water line, only do 3/4 of your top lid with eyeliner, don't do anything but matte because nobody's going to see your eyelid anyway, never do a wing, etc. It's almost like those tutorials are saying "your eye shape is undesirable so just don't wear much eye makeup because yuck". This was THE BEST tutorial I have ever seen for my eye type - hooded, droopy, small, NO lower lid, and with bags / dark circles. Where was this in my 20's? At least I found it in my 40's. I've never been able to enjoy colourful eyeshadow and it makes me sad that I missed out for so long. THANK YOU SO MUCH, I might just go buy a rainbow of eyeshadows now!

Coco J I’ve got hooded eyes too. I keep my eyes open. I think that’s the trick. Use a tissue, or a shadow shaper like Wayne had & press on a dark eyeshadow with a flat brush following your bottom lash edge that naturally points up, or out. By following that you get the right flick for your eye shape. You can just stamp once, or if you want it longer, just extend it another half a brush length until you’ve got the cat eye length you want ( I tend to only extend it a little) You can then go over with liner if you like, or leave it with shadow. This has been the technique that’s allowed me to do it, I hope it makes sense & helps : ) it’s exactly the same as Wayne did with the turquoise liner but with a flat brush for a defined flick

Same... I gave up on liquid/gel eyeliner. I've found that using a pencil and smudging it with a tiny bit of shadow (or sometimes nothing) is so much easier and much more forgiving ;)

I was always told that because I have intensely hooded eyes all the way to the corners, that wearing eye makeup is impossible for me. I've never been able to figure out how to do a look that works, as my eyes are so hooded that the skin rests on my eyelashes and fully folds over the corners, which smears everything even if I somehow manage to make any of it visible at all. This is an excellent tutorial, and by far the most helpful for me. I have. some hope I can wear eye makeup now. Thank you so much! ❤️
@roseanneking89845 жыл бұрын
effluviah my skin lays on my eyelashes too and on top of that I have huge bags under my eyes from hypothyroidism. Even if I could get my eye makeup to help my hooded eyes, I still have the huge bags and I’ve not seen anything addressing this problem. Even if there was one , mine are just too bad to work with. I’ve even had strangers comment on my eyes because of the bags.

I love that you acknowledge how mature skin behaves, we need more advice and techniques that work for mature skin! Love Your attitude - Yes, makeup should be fun! Subbed! I would love some advice in a future video on what to do when your mascara falls. I've tried many brands and I always end up looking like a panda after a few hours. I avoid using mascara on my lower lashes now to minimise this effect but is there anything I could use to prevent this from happening? Thanks!

This is great. Lots of people who maybe are new to makeup on hooded eyes, or want a diffirent approach, will really bebefit from this. Especially the eyelash trick, because it shows you the angles you can work with in the outer corner. I have pretty hooded eyes, one more than the other, -and I wear glasses- and my eyes turn down a bit, so just going out doesn't work for me. Yes, go outward, but you can definitely go at an upward angle with that outward. And definitely never be afraid to run one color on your lid, and a seperate color in the crease, blended upward. I prefer a colored crease, with a complimenting glitter lid. Like a little peekaboo when I blink. All eyes are different. Personally, I am sick and tired of all these gurus having a ton of eyelid space, but I also get tired of hearing that hooded eyes have to stick with 1-2 colors on top, and can't do cut creases. I do cut creases all the time. The best advice is to just practice, and learn to alter those guru tutorials to fit your face.
