Wavy, can you make a video explaining some of the basic mixing effects? Just give us some tips on how to use reverb, delay, EQ and some more of the basic effects. We'd also like to know how to import plug-ins into Studio One. You're a great teacher, wouldn't want to learn it from anyone else.

A yo Wavy loving the channel so far. I commented on one of your videos a while ago I'm new to mixing and mastering. I rap and I just got my recording equipment I messed with it a little bit but couldn't get much figured out other than recording I don't know why but I just got stuck on stupid lol. It's the small things you don't pay attention to when your intimidated by what you see before you. Minor details in this video just flipped a light switch in my head lol. I couldn't figure out how to add to the vocals or the beat but to put it simple I had the folders on the side but couldn't get them on the track but now I got it. Thanks for the videos they are really going to help me get started.

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You! Hey man, I'm an old timer struggling with Software Based DAWs. I'm from the Tape World, and did manage to my way up to a Hardware Based DAW, but knew I had to move to a Software DAW or get left behind. Sometime back I decided to go with Studio One. I know it's a terrific product, powerful, but been having a heck of time getting around. I'm making an effort to learn, as I'm recording a song at this point in time, doing vocals. You video explained so much. You know your stuff! I subscribed, and gave you a like. Peace!

2:32 Ah, that's what my problem was. Yours automatically attached the FX channel to the initial one, whereas I had to click and drag it to make it apply. Was going insane trying to figure out what was left out here and why I was getting no reverb after creating an FX channel, but I think this is just a case of updated software complicating things.

Suppose that a reverb plugin has a EQ cutoff feature in it, would it be better to use the EQ in the plugin or a separate EQ?
@jacko_justchill4 жыл бұрын
Verse good question
@bl66283 жыл бұрын
The EQ cut off inside of the reverb plugins is generally very limited. Less or more low/high end, basically. With a separate EQ you have MUCH more control over that reverb.

Want a quicker way to add a send to a track and automatically route it there? Drag the effect from the browser directly onto the SEND of that track. It will automatically create the Send, add the effect to it, add the send to the track itself, and set the send on that track to 0db. This way you get the whole setup done for you. If you then want to send additional tracks to that FX channel, you can do that as needed by clicking and dragging the send from the first send section over to the send section on each additional track you want sent to that FX channel.
