Great video James -- thank you so much! You covered all the steps perfectly. To keep prices low we sell the Cross-Members with or without the polypropylene sheath. On their own they come in a simple cloth bag to keep them together, but the sheath is much more durable (like everything else we make, we make them using top-grade US-produced materials -- in this case heavy-duty marine-grade webbing, Velcro and thread). As a small surprise bonus, we will be including a complimentary P-38 can opener with every set of Cross-Members, so that your viewers will have a complete survival tool that makes it possible to open a can and quickly turn it into a high-powered stove (after emptying the contents into a pot or pan). The Cross-Members have been perfected over time to fit almost every common can, including quart and gallon paint cans as well as the popular stainless steel IKEA cans (the only can that isn't a good fit is Progresso's proprietary soup can). The add-on Side Toasters and Folding Grills work with cans and the Gen 4 Flat-Pack Stove. Thanks again James!

Former 50 of 74 years a hobo. Excellent. This device is the best idea since sliced bread. I've used a few rocks under a can stove for a better base. A few lengths of wire clothes hanger thru my top holes for a pot/pan rack. But as a almost weightless conversion kit this is top shelf.

@@craigeckhoff99 how did you survive …,all the hobos I seen in Saturday morning cartoons were drunken bums…I live in Hawaii … we don’t got and never had bum problems until San Francisco started sending their bums to us on one way tickets
@DevilDog03112 ай бұрын
@ Hawaii became a state in 1959 but the monarchy of Hawaii was overthrown in 1899 I believe ( i get close years mixed up sometimes due to RL short term memory loss from a severe head injury Marine Barracks Guam was formed in 1899 too so it’s possible I’m mixing up years) some white men descendants of Boston missionaries basically overthrow our monarchy and handed Hawaii to the US to get around a 2 cent tax on sugar made outside the US .. we had railroads going almost around the island but the 1940’s and 1960’s tsunamis put a end to the railroads on my island .. I think people here did not do the hobo thing because we don’t got the land mass like the mainland and ppl here will recognize a person and know they are part of the billy Bob family and that person who’s being a hobo will bring shame on their family ( honor is not something to be messed with in Hawaii ) those are the reasons I think no hobo’s were ever here ( besides the sea provides fish and the mountains wild pork ) so hobo’s never flourished here

What was the farthest you travelled at a time? Did you have like a van or just went on foot and tried to catch a train?
@craigeckhoff992 ай бұрын
@@goofyahhslimjackson1942 Almost always caught a freight train. A few times every year caught the Burlington Northern from the North Town yard in Minneapolis MN to Seattle WA. About 2000 mile trip. Would stopped in Havre MT yard to refuel then headed on out. Took about 2 to 4 days depending on if it was an hot shot ( express freight ) or a local ( mixed freight with numerous stops to add or remove cars ). Wasn't much to stop for after Fargo ND because ranch work was about all you could get until Spokane WA. The ranches paid only once a month at the time and I preferred daily pay when possible.

That is a cool tool! My grandfather taught me how to make a “hobo stove” he called it a “can cooker” back in the late 60’s. He told some crazy stories of riding the trains from Texas out to California to work on the farms back during the depression. I lost count of how many I made with a bottle opener can punch (dated myself there) just like he showed me 55 years ago. I have to order one of these. Thank you for sharing and making another informative video sir.
