i would NOT recommend sleeping with your hair wet in a plop! it’s not good to swell the cuticle for a long period of time like that; the pH of hair is slightly acidic while water is neutral so it can actually damage your hair! don’t do this, friends!

Yeah and you could cause a yeast infection on your scalp
@luckyDancer1002 жыл бұрын
Yeah plopping scares me. It seems like way too long to keep your hair and scalp damp. It’s not getting a lot of air under a towel for hours and hours. I’d be worried about developing dandruff/seborrheic dermatitis.

I would definitely recommend trying a satin bonnet. It’s very different than using a scarf. The bonnet protects your hair and keeps it somewhat in place, but it also allows it to move around some too. It’s what I use every night!

I’ll have to get one! 🙃

What works best for me is a buff. Works on long and short hair. When I have long hair I use a bonnet because it stays on better. I have hair similar to yours.

Mmm I haven’t heard of that, I’ll have to look it up!! I might have to try a bonnet when my hair grows out more 😊

I sleep with it down, for one, bc I have use of only one hand. But when I wake up I have major frizz and flyaways. And I sleep with a bamboo pillowcase.

@Erin if you want to sleep with your hair down, i’d say put all your hair above your head so you’re not laying on it and squishing your curls. if it’s really long tho you might want to pineapple

I just started experiencing with my waves, they are 2A-2B so I only recently figured out that I have them. My hair is almost elbow-length, so I'm having a hard time figuring out where to take them all at night 😄 I have a bonnet but I found that it doesn't keep my hair in place so I lay on it and the next day it has some strange kinks, but at least there is no frizz and tangles (unlike when I wear it down and sleep on a regular cotton pillowcase). I think I'm gonna try to make a really really loose pinapple inside that bonnet, maybe that will be better and more comfortable to wear at night.

I have the same problem. I’ve had some good results sleeping on my back, leaving it loose, and laying it above me on the pillow. But my bigger issue is how stringy my hair can get in the morning. It feels like it completely flatten outs. I think because I’m 2a-2b, my waves are more prone to fall out.
@omgee81902 жыл бұрын
@@luckyDancer100 same!! I just don’t know how to sleep with it! I have same hair type and when i sleep on it they go limp and weird kinks. It looks good on shower day but as-soon as i got to bed and wake up its not cute. And if i spray my hair with water to reactivate product it dries stringy.

My best curls come when i sleep with it wet! Plop for 10 minutes then i lay it out on my pillow. The back is usually a little flat but my sides are 👌

I put mine in a ponytail really loosely with a scrunchie top and bottom. It works fine for me.
@amandalininger-bortko16162 жыл бұрын
I sleep with it piled on top of my head in a pineapple bun, if that makes sense 😆. It does stretch the waves/curls in the back, but I can refresh it the next day, and they'll shrink right back up, if not even moreso than the first day.

If you have a bunch of silk scarves you can tie them around your PillowCase to work like a silk PillowCase. I like a 🍍 at night.

When it comes to dry hair: I KNOW it sounds contradictory and I know using conditioner is stuck sooo deep into our (girls) mind as a essential part of our hair routine but my gosh, following my mothers' advice and stop using ANY KIND of conditioner (especially when it comes to dry and fine hair like mine is) was one of the best decisions in my life!!🙈 I could not believe how after a while my hair became more resistent to frizz, just felt so hydrated and therefore much shinier! And I still cannot believe how stubborn I was for years not wanting to dump conditioner out of my routine cause let's be honest - I was scared that skipping it would rouin my hair. I didn't even know any other way since I was using it since I was like 15. Before that I was basically a kid and kids have wonderful hair textures as we all know💁♀️) So, I came to the conclusion, that it was all the way a trick of big companies to profit more (yeah, they will earn more if we don't buy only the shampoo).

What is your routine? Shampoo, no conditioner then what for stylers? Do you use leave in conditioner or oil? And do you deep condition. Thank you!

You should really consider showing your viewers how to do these techniques se we know exactly what you mean. Some of your instructions didn't quite make sense. Also, if you put a suggested video in your cards above, can you please remember to link it below please? I don't want to stop the current video to start another and then come back to your video. Thanks!

So if you're not suppose to sleep on a cotton pillowcase bc it is bad for the hair. What is the difference in plopping with a cotton t shirt?
@teodorratanase2 жыл бұрын
might be less friction
@rpatel54272 жыл бұрын
cotton dries out hair so it's better for drying hair and still causing less friction than a regular towel :)

I just chopped off my very long wavy hair and I’m struggling with how to sleep with it now that it’s shorter. It’s maybe just slightly shorter than yours, but I’m just not used to caring for my waves when they’re so short. I’ve been sleeping with it loose on a satin pillowcase and that seems to actually be working pretty well, but I may try a satin bonnet and see how that works as well. I tried a satin scarf and it was a bust, it just slips right off my head in the middle of the night. I guess I move around too much. 🤣
