Hi Cheryl, you have great ideas there and what you have made looks great too. When I go to the fabric store I take a picture of the end of the bolt with content n washing instructions which includes the fabric. I save them in my notes folder on my iPhone. As soon as I get home I usually throw them all in the washing machine, so when I’m ready to make something it’s good to go. I keep the receipts with the fabric to remember how much I bought, but if they do get separated I just have to look at my phone. Your hair is looking awesome, it will be gorgeous in the end. You go girl. Have a great week Val🇨🇦🇬🇧❤️

I really love the sock card idea, but I am lazy so would probably go with the luggage tags. Right now I have a ring-bind notebook where I stick little swatches onto it, but the book is getting thicker and not really convenient. Thanks for sharing this.

I use tech and non tech for stash organization. I started collecting fabric back in the eighties. I kept swatches on index cards so I could take them to the fabric shop with me to buy buttons and zippers and such. I cut a slit in the swatch to insert buttons. I still use this method as well as OneNote to organize my patterns and fabric. I include photos on each page of the pattern front and back so that I’m never without yardage and notion info. I love your hair. I can’t wait to see it long and all silver. Beautiful!🖤

Sounds perfectly organised Lori 😊 Thank you, I'm looking forward to my hair growing out more.

Hi cheryl, i love the swatch idea. Also, Seamwork has a downloadable planner that is pretty great. Also, i use their little line drawings of patterns to cut out paper-doll style and pin with my swatch to keep my notes.

Catherine Johnson thank you Catherine 😊 Yes you can use the app just for fabric 👍🏻

Great ideas Cheryl. I always gasp when I look in my cupboard, half of the fabrics I don’t remember buying and why! And patterns, they are taking over my room, I have a few hundred. 🤭

Great vlog as always. I have a crazy out of hand fabric stash partly because I don’t know what I’ve got! So I’m now half way through cataloguing it using the app Cora which is brilliant for fabric. I’m going to take a look at patterns lite - sounds another great option. Like you i have also bought the same pattern twice before - stupid! Getting things under control now and trying to only make from my stash!

Great ideas. I recently came in to a large stash of vintage woolens and some wovens that are in boxes and bags in my small bedroom. I need to get it all sorted out and stored. I especially like the ideas for going out shopping for notions.

Very good video! We recently downsized our home and I have been trying to get things organized so I am able to see what I have. I will probably do the hard copy version as I am so technology challenged. lol I love the Linden, thanks to your inspiration I have made 2 so far (and another cut out) and loving them.

Hi Cheryl , great video and food for thought. I started a spreadsheet in numbers on my phone some time ago. It was for pattern details options yardages sizes etc and I was going to list my fabric there too. I’m too afraid too do that jus now 😂. I like the idea of the app and may take a lonk but I just looked at my pattern lis out of interest when I’d watched your video. I have 191 patterns in There and that doesn’t include books like Tilly’s . 🤔. Me thinks that’s too many. Some of them were free of course but I have not noted that. Think I’d better go and do so e sewing now. Hair looks good

thanks Jan. Sounds like my pattern stash too. I think I need to Kon Mari them, then catalogue, it'll not take as long then.x
