This was very helpful, especially your point about using shower curtains. I do wonder what kind of thread you were using. Did you go with polyester? Have you any experience using a stretchy thread, too? Also, you might be interested to know that cutting a circle is lots easier if you fold tour fabric into a square or a triangle and then just measure out a segment. Cutting it, the unfolded piece will form a perfect circle.

You could wash your silk item by hand or place in a zippered net bag (which is used when washing delicate items or easy-to-lose items like small socks). TUDaH RBaH (thank you very much, in Hebrew). // SHLM & HaB (peace & love). The Name of the Creator is Hayah asher Hayah, as what He told Moshah (Exodus 3:14), preserved in the Hebrew Scriptures. There is a curse to the G-o-d name (Isaiah 65:11-12), preserved in the Hebrew Scriptures. All followers of the Messiah are to do the 7 appointed times (Leviticus 23), but no more animal sacrifices, following the Crucifixion of the Messiah. We are now of the order of MLK TSDQ (King, righteous), to Whom ABRaHM tithed. Ask the Messiah to be your personal Savior. He said to him, I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me (John 14:6). ...for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of Hayah (Romans 3:23). The wages for sin is death but the gift of ALaHYM is Everlasting Life through Messiah Yahushgh our Master (Romans 6:23). That if you confess with your mouth the Master Yahushgh and believe in your heart that ALaHYM raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved (Romans 10:9). He Himself is an Atoning Offering for our sins, and not for ours only but also for all the world (1 John 2:2).

Thanks Cheryl, these look great but the elastic tube is showing on the outside. Any way to hide it?

Hi Samantha, the elastic should be incased in the bias binding inside the hat attached to the lining. Hope that helps.

What has happened to your videos Cheryl? I miss your great content. I bought some of your pink satin, and yes, it's beautiful, but it's like cutting and sewing a jelly 😂 well worth the effort though. I made two pillow cases for myself and my Daughter. Hope you are well. X

Hi Cheryl, lovely to see you back on KZbin. Can I just confirm, do your pillow cases in satin keep your hair and skin nice in the same way as the silk ones do? I know you said that the silk ones do a good job with your skin and hair but I just didn't catch you mention that your satin ones have the same results. Many thanks and apologies if I missed you mentioning it. Thanks.

Whenever I teach my clients how to sew with satin or silk, I often use lightweight interfacing to stop the fabric from slipping, I find it helps my clients sew straighter. 💃

I have an older Pfaff with the IDT system but I still have the tendency of lifting the presser foot every few inches to help the fabric relax. I've made some purple silk pillow cases for a well known movie director and his wife. It's been awhile though and I can't remember how I made them 🤣. I'm pretty sure that I used French seams. I'm going to save this video in my watch later list in case they ever request more pillow cases. Thank you for this tutorial 💕
