I love “assertive is intention. Aggression is control” When women can learn not to be mean toward other women the collective power will never be understood. Women must learn another woman’s power isn’t her weakness or competition. Draw from it, and be empowered to be yourself. 💗♥️

Iyanla is right that we women are going to bed too soon with the wrong men. As I got older and out of my twenties, I no longer expected men to fall in love with me after I gave them my body in bed. It could go either way and I'd be okay. If the companionship was intact and mutual respect, the relationship would survive and do well. But if I made the mistake of sleeping with the wrong man too soon, at my age, I could walk away and still feel okay about myself. NOT when I was younger and felt more vulnerable and desperate to find the right man. My heart don't get broken like it used to and I'm still in a strong relationship for 7 years now because I found a compatible 'mature' man. But I 'had to do my work' am still doing my work and will continue to do the work!

When my grandmother passed away a long time ago I was so distraught. I used to watch Iyanla Vanzant every Sunday to help me with my trauma and help me with the exhausting week I’ve been through. Fix my life and Super Soul Sunday’s really helped me but I was still too young to see the bigger picture of my life. Iyanla is needed now to help women to heal from their unhealed trauma. Lack of self love and people pleasing are detrimental to men and women. If we don’t heal that people will take advantage and leave you for dead. Anyhoo, I need Iyanla back on tv.

WoW! Powerful Ms Vanzant. I recently walked away from a magazine as the food writer in Virginia. I’m very good at what I do as a chef and culinary/ nutrition educator. While I appreciated the experience, the owner of the magazine had an issue with time management. It frustrated me and I told him that I was going to take my talent elsewhere. So now, I’m looking for a magazine that not only values my time but also pays me for my talent. Thank you ladies for this chat.

Yes. Ive never seen Black women so dismissive and malicious toward others. Its disappointing, heart breaking. I think its the reality shows, the ugly depictions of women as normal, the extreme emphasis on looks, material things, who has the most, who is doing the most: all that nonsense. . Don't let it keep you in tears. Find your pack. Run with them. You may have to walk and stand alone for a while until you do but there's still love and loyalty; there's still women who do not consider you a threat and they can be great friends. I'd say read a lot of literature by and about Black women. It helps to know some reasons why and not to take it personally. Plus look within and learn yourself. What do you need in relationships wwith your peers, and why are you not attracting the friends you need in your life? Get outside your comfort zone and remember to smile. Don't get mad or sad if they don't smile back. Not your problem. Keep your heart open but guard it from predatory people. Peace and love to you young lady.

I believe you are scared to date a competent man especially a black man, women typically date Pookie (cause she can control him finacially) or Brad (cause she wants to replace white women). I see yall dodging the Melvins and Poindexters cause that goofy yall play with Brad and Pookie will not fly. Thank goodness for passports. So dating down and getting your ass kicked is a personal problem.@@HH-gv8mx

I never belittled my boyfriend. I always told him how proud I was of him. I supported him in his decision to switch jobs and supported him when he decided to go back to his old job even helping actually well I wrote the letter to his boss, demanding that he paid him more, because the company was using him and he was barely making a Livable wage. I was his biggest supporter and fan. I lost friends and the respective family members for dating him. But I also lost my front tooth and he did a lot of damage to my bones and I’m stuck here with huge medical bills. I cooked him dinner every single night and packed in the lunch and waited by the door every morning and gave him a kiss. I rallied for him. About to turn 25, and wow. Lost a friend of over 10 years and still haven’t recovered. And don’t really have any other friends. Grieving somebody who is still here is a different experience. I feel like I was never really given the tools to understand that life happens, so when life happens to me it feels as if it’s the end of the world. But I’m learning and Iyanla is such a helppp. Like an older auntie I don’t have. And I know there’s a future version of me that’s exactly who I want to be, I just have to get there.
