Your ability to sort out how to address each different issue is great. Big job but once done right hopefully a lot less maintenance in the future.

Great to see you are finally getting steady progress on the welding. When you are finished welding and ready to re insulate, it would be in your best interest to hire a professional foam insulation team to spray and do it right. What you cut out was someone's bad idea to do it cheaply. If accessible, the whole boat can be sprayed in a day and most likely cheaper than the 100 bottles of hardware store spray foam job you removed,

I’ll have to look into that. No idea how easy or hard it is to find someone to do that job!

Yes being able to do it ourselves has def meant the difference between is continuing on and having to give up this boat! Thanks for watching 😌

A cabin top mounted anvil (or similar) & a heavy hammer makes for quick work to bend flat iron stock on those slight curves. Also you could use a hammer attachment on that pneumatic chisel.

Well I think that you’ll be able to hang out your shingle calling yourself a fully-fledged shipwright. However and meanwhile, look after your body, Logan. Don’t push on when your back screams out “Stop!” When I was restoring my 1917 gaff ketch I hand-spliced all the 3/8” wire shrouds for authenticity, my back would ache after each splice. I now, at age 82, have permanent backache from a prolapsed disc. I don’t wish this for you.

Logan unfortunately already had some pretty big back problems from repetitive motion and lifting to heavy of things 😞 but luckily we came up with a solution for the starboard side that has made things a lot easier!

With the rain that I am seeing you wouldn’t be sailing anyway, so you may as well be making Papa more seaworthy.(Just trying to make you feel better)
