Great video as always! One way I have used them is to float up 6 inches to the second floor of a ruin to get plunging fire, then back down out of sight. It's helpful to have a free extra point of AP.

They also synergise well with all the usual things, like Doom, Shroud runners, and Vypers.

Wonderful , I use it too! Just remember in competitive games all 3 floors windows are considered "blocked", no LoS is allowed 👌

Best Trick about SS is, that you can Kind of deepstrike in 3'. So you can sometimes Catch the other's home objective.

Lore wise the Exarch is supposed to Focus Fire for the unit. In previous editions the other members of the squad could shoot through him like the Fire Prism tanks can do. That wouldn’t work if the Exarch had a different weapon.

@@WBConcilio thx. I use 10 Shadows in one unit, and another 5 in deep strike. Why 10? So I can use the Guide more efficiently. Once Guided, they can kill or hurt any target, if the target is Doomed by Eldrad, then ... 😉

Im sure you know this already but spectre exarch used to have 2 other weapons being the prism blaster (flat 3 shots middle profile but no blast profile) snd the haywire launcher that worked like the quin weapon iirc. And the old exarch ability was ghostlight that worked like linked prism tanks for a single massive shot from the squad

one unit of these guys is really good for a list. I feel like 10 hawks for 150 vs 5 for specters at 95 is a better trade off for a little more points you get way more volume of fire and adding Barraoth in that unit and kicking off a bladestorm for ap-2 makes them rip. Then do a battle focus of 6 when you fire.

I thought in the lore, the exarchs had access to more weapons because they were Lost on the Path. And the Aspect Warriors generally are perfecting a specific style of combat so as not to get lost. I didn't think it necessarily had anything to do with the capacity of the Warriors to use different weapons. I'm new to Eldar though and could be wrong.

Yes, Exarch generally have access to more weapons because they have spent more time mastering them. In earlier editions this was true of Spectres and now it isn't

The real downsides of shadow spectres is that you can't buy them, they are forge world, and they cost a lot. Probably the best unit to proxy in eldar 😂

People on eBay sell the models they own for really high prices since GW is out of stock. Some of them are painted pretty well so you can make the argument it’s worth it but even then, it’s still a lot for a squad of 5.

FYI. The Magnet Baron audio is loud. The main content is pretty quiet. Just want to call that out for future videos... I know it can be a pain to find the right settings and speaking into the mic at different ranges can be a factor too. Just want it on your radar ;)

As everyone else said, the biggest problem facing shadow spectres is getting them 😂 Good video though, however, maybe the volume balance between the magnet baron intro and the rest of the video feels off. Baron too loud a bit. Cheers.

There is something about the shadow spectres that don't jive with me. They feel like a fake aspect warrior since they have never been in the main codex and to me feel very similar to dark reapers. Informative video though and you have convinced me to try them out!

Kind of agree but they are some of the best eldar minis. They should replace dire avengers. That's easily the worst aspect.
