I did not see it that way at all. Too many people are so distracted and don't rely on their mirrors. If so, we would have seen more people make an effort to move out of the way. Big trucks could likely be able to block the way with the help of radio communication if the other vehicles move over. It appeared like a few trucks tried to line up in the video but, did not catch on in enough time or were blocked by those that won't change lanes. Be safe, just move over. (DC metro area)

This perpetrator put so many people's lives in danger. His actions are really no different then randomly shooting a firearm. For the safety of the public, these officers put their lives on the line to end the pursuit. I'm of the belief that if a perpetrator has total disregard for public safety, as demonstrated here, law enforcement officers should have justification to utilize deadly force. All State Highway Patrols should have trained 'sniper' troopers with 50 caliber rifles. Setup at a roadblock and place a well aimed shot into the engine. Better yet, a well aimed shot into the driver.

Yes, kill them all. Allow police to be judge, jury, and executioner at their will. In Minnesota cops chase people until someone dies, then back it off a notch. They kill whole families of innocents, but they get their man and that is what counts. They chased a speeder into a play ground and maimed 3 little kid, but, they got their man. Cops killed a guy doing 80 in a residential area but that time they didn't get their guy. Some sacrifices have to be made by innocents. Go cops go, kill them all when they run!!!!

Four little someones are blessed to be alive, along with the three or more cars they hit. Are we raising a nation of criminals, scammers, thieves and other lowlifes? Seems like parents did a better job when they were allowed to *discipline* their children. Nowadays, too many kids are being raised by grandparents and great grandparents. And before you complain, look up the definition of discipline. Nowhere does it say corporal punishment. Edit: I forgot to mention, too many parents don't have custody because of their use or alleged use of illegal drugs. DCFS doesn't want to be deprived of that $35,000 to $150,000 each year per child they get from the Federal government for a child in foster care.

I think people also believe they are helping by slowing down. But not actually using any situational awareness. They need to see the cop coming up, speed up and move out of the way to give him the lane. If I saw the run away driver, I would block the lane and the shoulder as much as possible. But hard to do when they come out of nowhere. Would have to have been looking in the mirror just before. I do believe their plate numbers should be captured and sent a letter of what to do in that situation. And then a ticket for those who look to blatantly block the cop.

The pursuit of a stolen vehicle until it is transformed into a Wrecked stolen vehicle is NOT an accomplishment. Instead, it is pure reckless behavior that never ends well. The life of every motorist was needlessly placed in danger during the pursuit to accomplish Nothing good. It would have been far more intelligent and responsible just to radio ahead and then hope the vehicle is later recovered in one piece when it is later parked somewhere. Now we the taxpayers will instead pay for the towing and highway cleanup costs, pay the costs if he is hospitalized, pay for a lawyer to represent him in court, pay for his trial and pay to keep him in jail. So in the end that pursuit cost the vehicle owner his vehicle and will cost the taxpayers well over One Hundred Thousand dollars in court and prison costs. Nothing gained and everything Lost.
