WC Sketching: Sketching 3rd Floor Terrace

Finally getting around to do some on-site sketching in our new home, the Westminster-Canterbury continuous care retirement community in Lynchburg, VA. We've been here two months now and are reasonably settled to the point I can venture out around the campus and do some sketching. On this occasion I chose a simple scene of an outside terrace. Thank you very much. Life changes. My wife and I are in good health but decided we were tired of caring for a 95-year old house beautiful as it is. So we decided to move to this beautiful and very well run nearby continuous care retirement community (CCRC) and are loving it. Process of downsizing to a 4-room apartment was quite a time consuming task! We can finally breath again and I’m getting back to - almost - daily sketching and hope to start making more videos again.

I only just started watching your videos. Thank you for all the useful information. I love your pencil holder it’s the first one I’ve seen that doesn’t look like a pain in the butt. I tried to find one on Amazon but nothing really come up under strawberry. I’m also wondering about your tripod. It looks just right. If I ever start sketching outdoors then this is the way I’d go I don’t like the idea of holding it all in my lap. Plus I’d like to be able to stand if I wish. Looked at the rest of your videos hoping you’d give more info on it but didn’t find anything. What kind is it?

Thank you very much, Susan! Very kind words and I’m thrilled that my videos have inspired you! I will do some checking and in a follow up comment will address your art supply pouch and tripod questions with current recommendations. I love the pouch I’m using and though the exact tripod may not be available I’m sure there’s a similar lightweight one for purchase. I will get back to you. We’ve recently moved to an apartment in a continuous care retirement community So my work and recording routine needs to change some but I hope to start making more videos again soon.
