Hi Bill. I love this video and thank you for putting it on youtube. May I offer one more tip that I learned in college, about tearing paper? Do everything you are doing exactly as you are doing it .. and add this one little step. Just before you tear (and after you have used the bone folder)… - fold the paper and wet just the edge where you plan to tear. I use my finger dipped in water.. I just want to get the edge - fold the paper the other way and do the same thing on that side - fold it back one more time - wait a few seconds to let the water soften the edge - now tear your paper just the way you are doing .. this makes the paper easier to tear and actually makes the edge a bit softer and prettier (IMO) I hope you’ll try this ang let me know if you like that added step or whether it is making no difference for you.

A technique for quelling aggressive dogs when encountered on my bike rides is to talk to the animals as they chase me. The typical conversation often starts with the aggressive animal greeting me with barks and the chase begins. I return the conversation with baby talk like "Hi! Oh, you're such a beauty!' and "Who's the good puppy? You are!"

Nice idea, John, but, quite frankly, I think I prefer the Halt! spay or squirt gun ideas better than stopping and having a sit down chat with an unfamiliar dog that’s showing its teeth!

Nice ride but I would have avoided the streets paved with bricks on the way to Main Street. You could have picked up the Blackwater Creek trail by going down Bedford and then turning right on Hollins Mill Rd. before The Dahlia…...but I'm sure you know that route. Good way to avoid traffic on Rivermont.

No, damn it! I usually have my camera running but didn’t that day. From now on, when not making a shareable video, I’ll have my Insta360 X3 set to “loop” so it acts like a dash cam. Locals, however, have identified the dogs and their nearby owners. They are not vicious but, apparently, out of control. Owners live in nearby neighborhood (Peakland Place) and have little control over them. They are Scottish Deerhounds.

I used an aluminum for a couple of years in my job before throwing away. I don’t know where you live or when you sketch in the wild but an aluminum clipboard will get painfully cold in the winter. I found that wearing gloves made my work more difficult so I finally gave up on the aluminum keyboard so that I could use thin gloves that allowed me to write and operate electronic.

This is an absolutely brilliant idea. I just received mine (had to get it from the US because all the UK ones were plastic). I thought that, being metal, magnets would adhere, but on mine, they don’t. However some other KZbinr suggested using refrigerator magnets with clips the wrong way round: instead of using the magnet side face down and the clip face up, you can use the spring clip to attach to the board and use the magnet to hold a metal travel watercolour box-with two clips, the box sticks to the palette like a rock. Even with the box and the paper, there’s plenty of room for a brush, pencil or pencil, a clip-on dual water pot and so on. And it all folds up compactly. I’d never heard of a folding clipboard before so wouldn’t have known to look for one without your video. Thank you so much!

Bill the clamp you’re using on the handlebar to mount the Insta 360 appears to be made of plastic on the rotating ball. If so it will eventually fail and you camera will hit the deck. It looks like the one I actually started out with. Subsequently I have purchased three other clamp styles all were superior to the one that I believe you’re using. My most recent one is the Insta 360s stem cap mount on top of the fork. Your video is very good for beginning e-bikers and well done. I ride a Bosch equipped gravel bike class 3. Whenever I pass a cyclist riding an analog bike I tell them not to worry they’re just being passed by an old, fat, out of shape e-biker. 😂 good luck with your e-biking.

Steve, the one I bought through Amazon is titled “Handlebar Clamp Motorbike Mount for Insta360 ACE Pro One X4 X3, X2, X.” Thanks for the heads up. Can’t attach anything to the stem on my Velotric Discover 1, need to use limited space on handlebar. What other good mounts did you use? Thanks RE my video. Hopefully, it might be helpful to some. I’ve got two more like that planned. Ride on!

It’s easy to unlock that bike to get class 3 speeds. I also replaced the 7 speed 14-28t freewheel to a 11-28t and have no more ghost pedaling at higher speeds. This is just an option if you still want to get exercise while moving quickly. I found that helped me use mine as a car replacement much more often.

What I like about people making these ebike videos is that they are going places on their ebike that they would not normally go.. I live next to the Rockies and I would like to have a bike that has the power to get up the mountains and the stopping power of when I am coming down the mountains.. I do like the ebikes that have the bmx handlebars.. That upright position is more comfortable than the mountain bike or street bike position..

If you have a safe place to charge up, away from your house, so much the better. Best regards, and happy cycling!
