WCF'19 Day 1: INSANE 5 second qualifying runs @ Import vs Domestic World Cup Finals

The first day of qualifying was absolutely insane after the rain stopped! Gidi set a new personal best and there were several cars trapping 250mph with a 5 second ET! Sorry in advance about having to fight the heads. There's a lot of media at this event and it gets a little crowded. What was your favorite run in this video?

I don't see any reason why he would turn it down, I think he just let out. I don't think he will have trouble making consistant high 7s passes on a decently prepped track and will probably get into the 7.7s range.

@@AllTracTurbo it was definitely turned down or he let out but I think when he gets that clutch sorted and throws around 30 pounds at with the weight the got off the front end it has the potential to go .50's or .60's. I would like to see him get rid of the Frankenstein intake/intercooler and throw a Edelbrock Super Victor possibly CNC'ed idk they make stupid power out the box and a billet Wilson elbow and 102mm TB and some billet atomizer 325 or 500lb injectors so he can swap to methanol and either 2 275's one in front of each turbo in the charge pipe or a 500 pounder in the charge pipe in front of the throttle body to throw methanol for more cooling, that would definitely help in the power department with those little turbos, if he done all that and ditched the little honda radiator and just fab up a tank that holds a little more water than the motor holds it would be lighter than when it had the aluminum block and really be running if they could consistently run high teens or no more than .20 in the 60 foot and go low 4.90's in the 1/8 he might be able to run close to the grub worm Camaro

That’s what happens in an FWD car when you are looking for third and find first again. 😬 It is super sketch, you’re right. I’ve seen several guys pop motors when they do that because the engine speed can’t keep up and they scatter pistons & rods down the track. Not a good day to be an FWD racer when that happens. On the plus side, Honda’s are super affordable to build so if and engine failure does occur, it’s not the end of the world.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion but the car is a re-purposed wrecked Corvette which is cool IMO and is built and driven well enough to win the class it competed in. Good looking? No. Junk? He's gotta learn you can't show up to an event like this half assed. To many changes to the car without any real time to test. It's not a stick only class either which makes it all that much more competitive. That said even some of the stick cars there he has ran against went 7.50s already. It's just a far trip to make not being close to ready. WCF isn't a TX2K event. They're worlds apart from each other. Great video by the way. Your coverage is always really good.

@Vinny Booboo No need to insult. If you look at the results from this year and last year you will see quite a few cars (mostly Hondas) that can't go rounds. It's what happens when you make that kind of power and rev that high with such a small engine. Small journal cranks and small diameter rods = High Cylinder Pressure = eventual failure.
