Remembering Marty Schottenheimer

Marty Schottenheimer, who won 200 regular-season games with four NFL teams thanks to his “Martyball” brand of smash-mouth football but regularly fell short in the playoffs, has died. He was 77.
Schottenheimer died Monday night at a hospice in Charlotte, North Carolina, his family said through Bob Moore, former Kansas City Chiefs publicist. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2014. He was moved to a hospice on Jan. 30.
In 2017, Schottenheimer and wife Pat sat for an interview with WCNC Charlotte's Michelle Boudin.
Schottenheimer was the eighth-winningest coach in NFL history. He went 200-126-1 in 21 seasons with the Cleveland Browns, Kansas City Chiefs, Washington Redskins and San Diego Chargers.

Wtf he died?! I just found this out just now. I can't believe he did earlier this year in 2021 & I'm just finding this out at the very end of 2021. Marty was one of my favorite coaches. I remember that San Diego Chargers squad he built back in 06. That team was thee most talented, deep & stacked team on both sides of the ball. Philip Rivers, LT, Lorenzo Neal, Michael Turner, Darren Sproeles, Vincent Jackson, Michael Floyd, Keenan McCardell,Antonio Gates & Marcus McNeil on offense. Shawne Merriman, Steve Foley, Carlos Polk, Jamal Williams, Antonio Cromartie, Shaun Philipps,Quentin Jammer & Luis Castillo on defense. I'm not a Chargers fan (I'm a Raider fan) & remember that squad whipping my team's asses that year. I believe that team only lost 2 games & could've won a SB had it not have been of that bonehead play Marlon Mccree made at the end of that playoff game against the Pats. I hate the Chargers, but was rooting so hard for Marty because I wanted him to win a SB.
