Rescue workers continue searching for survivors in the mountains of western North Carolina, trying to contact and deliver aid to hundreds of people cut off by washed-out roads, felled power lines and damaged cellphone towers following Hurricane Helene.
Lake Lure, North Carolina is among the most decimated towns across the state. Debris covered the town as recently as Monday with boats, docks, and tree trunks among the items scattered abroad.
Officials worried on Friday that Helene's impact would cause the Lake Lure Dam to collapse. Excessive rain from Helene caused the lake to fill up over the dam. An evacuation order was mandated because of the concern. The dam survived but the town as a whole is in ruins.
Lake Lure is located in Rutherford County, about 40 miles southeast of Asheville. The town of just over 1,000 residents is named after Lake Lure, a reservoir created by the construction of the Lake Lure Dam to secure the area from Broad River.
The town became a popular tourism destination in western North Carolina, particularly for the Lake Lure Flowering Bridge (formerly the Rocky Broad River Bridge). The bridge was designated as a Certified Wildlife Habitat by the National Wildlife Federation. Flooding from Helene destroyed the bridge, eliminating one of Lake Lure's biggest draws. #Helene #Hurricane #News

The water coming down off the mountains was moving at 18-20 mph. It was 15 feet over flood stage at Chimney Rock. The riverbed leading into the lake has ground up fragments of fairly new model cars in it. The local river kayakers say the white water section boulders all moved, some were 8, 10, 12 feet in diameter..

A force of nature. No wonder there was so much destruction.

The destruction reveals many deficiencies with the criteria and that leads to a qualification problem. The garbage and damage shows how careless people can be and ignore risks. This then continues with the topic of climate change or the tipping point, or tipping points. The perspective shows how you can focus on the small levers or the big ones. The destruction and the garbage lead to the same results and the same causes in one combination. The images can probably be associated with the word recklessness or negligence. The next obvious word would be negligence. What becomes apparent is that the majority are bad at evaluating images or what is shown with words. They probably indicate something, certain deficiencies, and these can probably be linked to other terms. There are a lot of attraction errors and a lot of confirmation errors and a really stupid group dynamic. These are special terms and each of these terms brings something to your attention that leads or can lead to other important terms related to this word. The sum of the terms shows a picture and the quality of the terms and the sum that decides how well mqm can analyze the whole thing. The masses do not have much to do with good analyses or people actually only use them in the laboratory or in the practice of a good doctor or partly in the field of science. The masses don't even see the point in getting a good picture, step by step, of what this is all about. People write that everything will remain as it was before, or that we will rebuild it. It's like someone doesn't want to understand that it's better to look left and right when crossing the street. It's clear that there's more to come and it just shows how stupid people can be to react in the time beforehand. The terms lead to the deficiencies and if you use them well, then they make a lot visible. The defects in interpretation are related to defects in perception or to false views. Why was it accepted like that? That is the question. The majority of people here live with old views and the extent to which they influence the criteria is greatly underestimated. The sum of the changes does not have a positive effect and the influences of man. In this day and age, man can only survive by destroying everything; we don't have that kind of necessity. The destruction promotes it to end in a dead end. The chaos continues to have an impact everywhere and that does not bode well. What is shown here has little or nothing to do with symbiosis or with the word. The drowned children trusted their parents, the voters and the politicians. Now we see how this can take its toll and of course it is not nice. The media warns, but on the other hand they also promote it voluntarily and in some cases without inhibitions. The citizens or the masses and many opinions are the problem on the front line. The fact that nothing good is happening is a problem. People are showing how they care that something like this will happen again very quickly.

Nothing but trees ,houses and boats in that mess. And i wonder how much the bottom of the big areas of water came up from the sediment.

This is devastating and its incredibly infuriating that they aren't sending more money and help to these places that were hit by this storm, yet 2.4 Billion can be sent to Ukraine! What about OUR people?!?!
