Ehhhh... no hate on Lucas. I actually grew to appreciate him despite being steadfastly team Nathan... but everything about how they did the show just turned me off. I’ll always be a fan of the classic episodes but in my opinion the storyline and writing was just absurdly poor and it ruined it. I can’t say I positively won’t watch the new season, even though right now I am so not wanting to. But curiosity may get the best of me and I may watch a few episodes. Not sure. So while she chose Lucas, I’m mostly heartbroken at the writing and storyline.... not necessarily her choice.

I dont care for the character of Elizabeth for the last couple seasons, and I don't like how peevish Faith has become either, if Carson says white she says black. I liked Faith when she first met Jack and before she went to med school, wish that Faith would come back. I really love Nathan/Kevin perfect the way he is but don't want him to think twice about Elizabeth. I also like Lucas tho I'd like him to loosen up, fresh a tad more casual and maybe lose the beard down to a shadow, not quite that heavy. Love him with long hair but that won't happen. Also like Kevin with a little shadow but probably Mounties have to be clean-shaven, but hey they change the rules for schoolteachers, why not Mounties lol. Just my 2cents 😊😊😊

this was just what my saddened heart needed. a little levity and truth to the situation. I still can't believe that they made Elizabeth say that she was looking for Jack in Nathan...... I have never once, since s6-8. ep11 felt like that is what Elizabeth was doing.... they really deviated from how they were portraying Nathan this whole time.... that while he was a mountie, he was NOTHING like Jack EXCEPT they had the same profession and one Nathan said he would easily walk away from. Just sad that they took all the beautiful dimensions that had been carefully crafted and Kevin did such a phenomenal job portraying and flushed it.

Susan: You are absolutely correct, unless, this whole episode was crafted to let us see all her feelings pointing to Nathan, then suddenly switch to Lucas to bring in the element of the SURPRISE ENDING! Do you recall after Elizabeth though Nathan was shot and when she saw him she rushed into his arms. Get this, she later told her best friend Rosemary that she did not realise how deeply she feels for Nathan! Note, she did not say Jack! She knew the difference! Wow! When i revisit various scenes, I struggle with S8/12 ending!

@@normaseymour2455 the kiss on the bridge feels fake. No chemistry, Lucas did not even look happy. I despise that scene. I have seen Chris kissing on other hallmark movies, he seems more alive and excited. I will be watching season 9 to witness the 2nd breakup. (wishful thinking) still team Nathan

Cool video. I’m just devastated. This episode just totally veered away from what we know and seen. The scene where she says she was trying to find Jack in Nathan wasn’t even well written. It seemed rushed and weird. I just don’t know what happened. I will go back to reading my books (other series) where they end the way they should.

I will admit that particular scene with Nathan and Elizabeth could have been written a little different. Jostle there could have been more dialogue between them. I heard Kevin say he didn’t want to rob the Nathan fans a chance to mourn his heartbreak. I guess it worked. It kind of made Elizabeth look bad too. Kudos to his acting. I like his acting. I’m not a super fan of the Nathan character though. I would love to see more of Kevin’s humor come out in Nathan. I’m looking forward to storylines for him next season. I’m looking forward to some season with Lucas learning to be a father figure. That could bring some humor. I want to see Lucas open up and allow himself to be a bit more vulnerable especially with Elizabeth.

If Erin was the one who actually changed the ending to be with Lucas, she has made a tremendous wrong to the WCTH FANS ALL OVER, intl fans that supported this show since 2014. Personally I only started when pandemic started and became hooked. NOW, I dont trust them to make & stay with Janette Oke's book story,..feel they are modernizing it..and ITS NO LONGER MAGICAL, HEARTWARMING STORYLINES FOR ME! HOPE KEVIN DOES NOT LEAVE THEM TOO. HE IS GREAT TALENT AND I HEARD HAD OTHER PROJECTS going for him ...SO...Don't think HM FANS will just.sit back and return quietly in droves...they will hear more people's negative feedbacks until they start filming .....

@@darant2249 there was not a long story about her as a Mountie wife and she becoming A WIDOW.. Had they followed the orig story ...made Nathan as still the main hero/lead and her as the Teacher ...the storyline could have been more heartwarming and tender between N & E as blended family and Allie growing up will req a mother figure as Lil Jack a role model Dad, a Mountie like Jack. More of natural progress of the 2 leading roles!! There was so much they could have projected Nathan as end game, their passion and connection way tgey interacted was more BELIEVABLE. Though She said she did loved him "but not in love"?? Well, she never gave N a chance to court her...not once!!! Even when at S 6 and 7, scenes showed she was always kind of pursuing him too...WAS TOTALLY WRONG & Rude of her! Anyway, am done with this series...not wholesome or resonating with my values anymore.. to All Team Nathan be well and stay safe!

Holy Moly! I wish I had noticed this sooner!!! Then the ending would not have been so shocking to me. But, then again, forgive me, but like you, I think Hallmark just added him as an afterthought--because there is no way you can make sense out of season 8. It was going to be Nathan, and for whatever reason, they changed their mind.

Someone posted a photo of Nathan and Elisabeth when they were looking for the christmas tree,Nathan was looking in front of him and Elisabeth was looking at him and this person wrote Elisabeth's thoughts and she was thinking : Jack...is that you ? I laughed and i realised how absurd this reason to let Nathan go is.

Lucas has more qualifies of Jack. In romantic ways than Nathan is way different than Jack. The only Nathan was like Jack. They were monties.

Season 8 was a disaster. It didnt tie in with season 7 and where that was heading. Trying to film under covid 19 is not really any excuse. Elizabeth has betrayed her own character. There's scenes in Season 8 which were not good family viewing. Real shame.

So sad, Lucas had some issues a while ago but his storyline was written in such a way that people could see he was trying to change his lifestyle, become an upstanding person. Even to the point where Elizabeth forgave him for endangering her life and according to her, she fell in love with him! So, it's her happiness, so, if Lucas makes her happy, she should certainly choose him. However, in the very finale, when Lucas was unaware that Elizabeth had chosen him, they depicted him as rushing to do what he always does, leave town. Then, the most unfortunate thing is, he was also depicted as selling his salòn to a "Known Criminal" who defrauded upstanding Hope Valley residents of their hard-earned savings (albeit the funds were returned to them after he was found out and caught). Lucas would have been long gone out of Hope Valley if the unselfish, man of integrity, Constable Nathan Grant )who refused a promotion to Inspector) did not have a candid talk with him! Is there a reason why a handsome guy who decided to change his ways to win the heart of a fair maiden reverted to his old way of life when he thought he lost her? Is this a lasting change or a situational change? I am worried about the show. Unless they are taking the storylines into some very new areas, some scenes appear to make the characters fall away from progress they made to be better versions of themselves, and some who were on the spurious side, and brilliantly moved away from those lifestyles appear to be reverting to old habits! This show has this volume of viewership because it has always been very well-written and very wholesome. Do not lose that guys, please!!

@@normaseymour2455 Wow, perfectly stated. I do believe Lucas wants to be a better man, but when he’s really in trouble he immediately returns to his old ways. I believe that, when things get tough, he will do whatever is necessary to get by no matter how dark he has to go. The writers tried to clean him up this year but they made one big mistake. (Probably before the decided which way they were going to go with the triangle.) When the oil business was struggling, (I don’t recall the exact terms Henry used but it was something like shady and underhanded, so I’ll use them) Henry said that if he would hire him back he would do the shady and underhanded things that are necessary to keep the business viable. Well, if you hire a guy to do shady and underhanded things for you, then you are shady and underhanded.

I bought the books because I wanted to know the ending--so much for that idea. I don't understand how you base a TV show on a Mountie and a teacher, and then say you wanted to develop new storylines with Lucas. I see only one solution--Lucas has to sell his saloon and become a Mountie.

I had to get that ending out of my mind so for the first time, I watched BBC’s War and Peace. Now that is the romance we saw taking shape with E and N but they decided to go a different route. War and Peace got it right at the end, I thought. Of course, it had some nudity from ancillary characters so it helps if you can find it on Clearplay or VidAngel.

Dont watch any show that have no good family values and clean, heartwarming ...no guns, no science fiction, (our world is already teeming with that) no mind-boggling intrigues or " edgy triangles" only, musical with good spiritual values - lighthearted and feel good ones.

“The little Scenes” You’ll be the only one who will understand this and I don’t want to waste your time, but my posts disappeared for awhile, which was a blessing because I didn’t get one thing right the whole time. I just wanted you to know that when you replied “you’re crazy” I laughed, I promise. You seem like such a nice lady and I wouldn’t like it if you thought I was a bad sport. It's not supposed to be logical or make sense. This was never about Elizabeth thinking Nathan was Jack. That Red Serge would always, in some way, remind Elizabeth of Jack. She was projecting her feelings for Jack onto Nathan. If you've ever lost someone you love, you'd know, it isn't something that would be obvious to the naked eye but an internal struggle for the one who's dealing with that grief. Grief is hard and this show has done an amazing job illustrating it. Some of you need to stop looking at this from Nathan's POV and remember Season 5 when Elizabeth lost Jack and her journey since then.

no, you need to remember that the people watching this show watch it in order to feel good, and pay for it to be able to enjoy it. If every poll shows that 70% of fans are unhappy with the ending then you messed up...cause it’s not about being realistic (which Lucas as a choice isn’t anyway) - it’s about Hallmark not delivering what we paid for. No matter the guy she picks. BOTH teams should feel good about the direction of the show. think again

Adele Mahmud, Just because Elizabeth lost Jack does not give her the excuse or the right to lead Nathan on. At the start of S6 Elizabeth might still be missing Jack a lot but S7 showed that Elizabeth had been leading Nathan on, pushing herself to help Nathan and Allie, encouraging him to take her out, locking eyes with Nathan. She even managed to stop Nathan from accepting a big promotion, the list is endless. Her actions weren't one of a grieving widow anymore. I am a widow myself and believe me I didn't want to carry on living when my husband died but I have a daughter who needs me. I've always been honest to those who showed interest in me and never, I repeat never led anyone on. I understand some of the writers are supposed to be the best and are Christians yet S8 was written without proper thought, cohesion and christian values. They turn Elizabeth into a callous, senseless and selfish woman. The show was supposed to make the viewers feel good, yet the writers completely did the opposite. The writing / storytelling in S8 was abysmal.
