One thing that is a huge difference between Lucas and Nathan is that, as far as I remember, Elizabeth only talked to Lucas twice about Jack. The first time, Lucas looked uncomfortable. The second time, she apologized first. With Nathan, she talks about Jack a lot, and Nathan talks about him with her, as well. Lucas was always uncomfortable with anything pertaining to Jack, which would mean he wouldn’t want to discuss him with Little Jack as time went on. They’ve already gone a great job involving Jack in Little Jack’s life, and Nathan is right in the middle of it. Also, they just suddenly made Lucas essentially perfect, which was very annoying.

So, Elizabeth said Lucas out loud making the safe choice. 😂 Of course that safe relationship wasn't going to last. Lucas was creepy always spying on Elizabeth and Nathan or going out of his way when they were together to break them apart. Lucas was a man who didn't have honerable intentions with Elizabeth. Then Nathan ended up thinking Lucas was mysterious hiding things even told Lucas, "I don't think you're a good fit here." #BillAndNathan #MountieInstincts Lucas was playing games. Lucas was playing games with Elizabeth's heart. Nathan on the other hand had honerable intentions towards Elizabeth. Nathan cared about Elizabeth & came to deeply love her even though his original reason for coming was just to look out for Elizabeth & Jack Jr to protect them. Nathan never expected to fall in love with Elizabeth, but he did. Lucas was a narcissistic personality who always had to be in control & get praise + popularity from people. So, Lucas tried to buy everyone in HV's love with grand gestures like buying the building for the library (though L bought that to impress E mostly)😮 Then putting lots of money towards a Christmas festival. The hot air balloon, the radio, & the film rail in the saloon to impress HV. What I found creepiest of all Lucas would talk to people like Lee to find out more about Jack and then try to act like Jack ex the hand holding with Elizabeth to impress her! 😮 Lucas never talked about Jack with Elizabeth, but Lucas sure wanted to replace Jack & to pretend to be like him in order to impress Elizabeth! Lucas you were nothing more than an imposter a cheap imitation. 😂 A fake! No one can replace Jack Thornton in Elizabeth heart though Lucas you tried! 😂 Unsuccessfully! Elizabeth realized she wanted a real man, Nathan! ❤ Nathan just is Nathan. He isn't trying to replace Jack, but Nathan does love Elizabeth! In fact Elizabeth & Nathan have talked about Jack. So, Nathan doesn't avoid the topic of Elizabeth's late husband, Jack like Lucas did with Elizabeth. Nathan genuinely cares & loves Elizabeth. ❤ Well, to Lucas it became a competition to win Elizabeth's heart when Lucas saw Nathan was interested & loved Elizabeth. Elizabeth was nothing more than a prize to be won for Lucas a potential trophy wife in Lucas sick game! 🏆 Thank goodness Elizabeth acknowledged she was in love with Nathan and from Elizabeth perspective Lucas was a safe, comfortable, uncomplicated relationship & safe love that shevhad only picked to protect herself. What she doesn't realize Lucas & his narcissistic personality could have been very dangerous for Elizabeth & Jack Jr. had Elizabeth married Lucas! Thank goodness she stopped denying she wanted to live in HV & was in love with Nathan (to herself) and that Lucas was the safe option! Thank goodness Elizabeth told Lucas she couldn't go with him broke up with him saying she wanted to stay in HV. A part of me I was scared that Hallmark was getting into lifetime style story telling & Elizabeth's decision to be with Lucas was going to be a disaster when she married him. That Lucas would expect Elizabeth to be dolled up for high society & make Lucas look good as the governor. Lucas would have sent "buddy" off to boarding school. That was a game too. Lucas didn't care about Jack Jr. either. It was all about impressing Elizabeth! Lucas never called Jack Jr by his given name Jack just "buddy" Nathan on the other hand pays attention to Jack Jr & cares for him. Nathan actually calls Jack Jr. by his given name "Jack" or sometimes the nickname "mountie Jack" usually when Nathan is headed off to work & Jack Jr salutes him & calls him "mountie Nathan" but most of the time Nathan calls Jack Jr. "Jack" but calling Jack Jr. the nickname "mountie Jack" also acknowledges who Jack Jr.'s dad was. Nathan will never let Jack Jr. forget his birth daddy was a mountie & will probably share as Jack Jr gets older more about the mounties. It also shows Nathan acknowledges that Nathan recognizes that Elizabeth was married to a Mountie before Constable Jack Thornton. Nathan isn't trying to replace Jack like Lucas was, but he cares & loves both Elizabeth & Jack Jr. I love Nathan's personality. The impeccable man Nathan is! #NathanGrant is definitely the right man for Elizabeth. He is loving, fun, playful, serious when need be, has great wit, and is a great dad, a great mountie, and is an impeccable man! ❤❤😊 Nathan will be a great husband to Elizabeth one day in the future! I'm glad Elizabeth finally told Nathan, "Nathan l, I'm in love with you." Now #NathanAndElizabeth are a couple! I can't wait for them to marry & raise their children together in a blended family! When she didn’t answer about him saying I know u feel the same way, I thinkmshe did answerr. She said itt would hurt too much if I lose you the way I lost Jack. She said I can't do this again, it would hurt too bad. I believe it was obvious that she loved Nathan, the looks, the chemistry, she was just scared because he was a mounty.

I didn't like how the writers went from Nathan to Lucas. I just couldn't get with Lucas. Lucas doesn't seem to be a family man. He seems more of a player. I feel that although she did not answer him by responding to him when he said she feels the same way. It's obvious that she does. She was just so afraid of getting hurt. I think when she saw him, she saw Jack and acknowledging that she lived him would open up all the hurt she felt from losing Jack. I always knew that she was in love with Jack. If it took her going thru that little fiasco wirh Lucas as much as I hated it so be it. She was never in love with Lucas and Lucas knew that. He knew her heart was always with Nathan.

Perhaps Lucas knew there was something between E and N because they can have hard conversations with passion. With those two, it was just awkward. The only time they had a heated discussion was when he confronted her about not telling him about his parents splitting up.N and E had at least 3 hard conversations. It is clear to everyone but Elizabeth that Nathan was and IS the one

To be honest, the quick but nicely worded answers happened often, but were not as genuine as Nathan’s uncomfortable slow responses. Through seasons 6-10

I agree to a lot of what you said. The love shown between Nathan and Elizabeth was there and there was never a kiss. With Lucas it was always a kiss and never the contact of feeling that was between Nathan and Elizabeth. She never gave Nathan a chance. It was not a try angle. Nathan was always left out. Nathan had true love feelings. That's why he could never fall for another woman. I think they they left a lot of holes in some of the scenes and didn't follow through. I hope that as the story goes on they bring have more action and let Elizabeth go on.

Spot on with your analysis. Season 8 IMO was a complete writing failure. It was just strange, especially if you are a fan of Janette Oke;s books. Something strange must have happened behind the scenes for it to be so sloppy. That season did not make sense and I stopped watching for 3 years. I am back now and found your you tube videos, wish I found them earlier.

Why would she say I have to go or it will be harder for me to leave. If she wasn't in love with Nathan she would have never said that. She was afraid to admit she was really in love with Nathan.

This is just another clue that it was always meant to be Nathan. I'm loving their relationship moving forward in S11.

I just don't understand why the writers took us on such a roller-coaster ride. Nathan declared he loved her twice and she obviously had feelings of love towards him too. She was just fearful. Then she rejects Nathan and moves on with Lucas. I found that unrealistic. Maybe she rejects Nathan for awhile and just conetrate on raising little Jack until she could admit her feelings of love for Nathan. Not move on with anither guy, Lucas because he is safe. I feel that E & L relationship was nothing but lust, not safe love like the writing team wants hearties to believe, but I guess safe love is what they say it was) Elizabeth had the deep connection and love with Nathan. At least the writers are correcting course in S11 getting Nathan and Elizabeth together as a couple.

This scene was beautiful but heart breaking. She loved him. She was just fearful. When Calls the Heart took us on a roller-coaster ride with Elizabeth rejecting Nathan. Then Elizabeth trying to move on with Lucas because he was safe. Elizabeth dumped Lucas (which WCTH took to far-they never should have gotten engaged in the first place) because she knew he was the safe choice not a great love like Jack. Lucas and Elizabeth may had some physical attraction (lust, not true love or maybe it was a safe love like the writing team says, but honestly I saw lust when L & E kissed) but she was missing the deep connection and love she had for Nathan. At least WCTH is getting Nathan and Elizabeth back on the right track in S11. I love this gentle love comes softly storyline. They are dancing in the next preview for Sunday's show. WCTH better be done with the triangle and have Elizabeth date and marry Nathan with them blending their families together!
