Wrestling Bios Presents - WCW Feel The Bang | A WCW Revenge Sequel?!
Proving once again that wrestling fans are some of the most loyal supporters out there today, a group of modders and WCW fanatics have created a sequel to the AKI N64 classic “WCW Revenge”. The game is titled “WCW Feel The Bang”, and it is extremely good!
When AKI moved away from WCW in order to develop the N64 WWF games, fans of World Championship Wrestling got stuck with some pretty questionable WCW games afterwards. From the weird WCW Nitro release on N64 to WCW Backstage Assault on PS1, it appeared that the finest days of WCW video game entertainment was well behind us. Just last year, a group of talented WCW fans got together to create WCW Feel The Bang, a modification of AKI’s WWF No Mercy with the aim to finally release a worthy sequel to WCW/nWo Revenge.

Not really possible at this point as it uses hi-res textures placed over the standard ones through the emulator they aren't on the rom. Also most of the new game logic and modes as well as altered menu layout uses gameshark codes far more than can be loaded on real hardware as there is no way currently to rewrite those parts of the rom data. Only thing to my knowledge that was replaced on the rom itself was the music.

@@BrianAwesome not quite that easy as it isn't just the rom size. Firstly modders have yet to be able to alter the roms code and save it over the original that is why it uses gameshark codes to alter code far more than can be loaded into the memory of the real hardware. Same goes for the textures they are not on the rom itself and are using the emulator to apply them so that wouldn't be possible at all as well as them being a far higher resolution than the system could even display as to my knowledge no one has found a way to inject new textures onto the rom yet either. The game isn't designed to run on native hardware and making a cartridge that large would cost too much but I will take that as you not being serious

In about 10 to 15 years, there might be a company who (legally or illegally) specializes in updating old cartridges, CD's & game systems.. If it's possible to update old cars & homes with new parts & appliances, why not a small cartridge??

That isn't correct. The first two def jam games were developed by AKI, so they're actually the next in the series following on from wwf No Mercy. AKIs games were wcw World Tour, wcw revenge, wwf wrestlemania, wwf no mercy, then the two def jam games.

In case anyone was wondering, AKI is actually still around, technically. They changed their name to syn Sophia in 2007 but unfortunately they seem to have pussied out in the years since their legendary N64 wrestling games. For the past 10 years or so they've done rhythm and fashion doll games in Japan for the DSi, Switch, and arcades. Anything to keep the lights on I guess.

I don't know much about tampering with computer programs, so I have no idea how to go about modifying things the way I did many years ago using a Gameshark and No Mercy cartridge to create my own moves, both by splicing together the beginnings of moves with the ends of others, and also combining a certain move animation for the person giving the move with another for the person taking it. The latter is apparently what they did to create the "Finger Poke of Doom" move in this mod.

WCW 2000 or mayhem 2 for ps2 was remodeled and molded into Def Jam Vendetta. So you got that series from the buyout. They took the engine took out wcw roster added rappers.

It's actually insane that nobody has tried to make a wrestling game like this in 2019/2020 for retail sale using this engine but with updated graphics and rosters. If AEW were smart they would make their first game like this and make wrestling games fun again. No Mercy to this day is still the best ever made.
