110% that's a repair and restore for the Mercedes. The '60s is when West Germany really started to come into their own after the war. That's when they rebuilt their reputation for making beautifully engineered machines and products. They made some really cool cars in the 50s but they were still feeling the effects of the war as we built our highways and suburbs.

The headlight lenses show that this is a european model of the Merceces 220SE that, when the rust/paint is resorted and the dash wood brought back to its original glory by a professional shop, you'll have an easy $70 - $80,OOO Mercedes and probably much more without having to do a full-out restoration. Black with red interior, a white steering wheel (get rid of that leather wrap), a sunroof (very rare on the european models) and the best yet - a Manual Transmission with the original white knob -- and you are in the sweet spot of the hand-built Mercedes cars of the 1960s. The only models more expensive than this in the W108 and W109 line are the convertibes. Go to Bring a Trailer and research recent auction prices for these beauties. You guys have a winner and one of the most exciting automobiles to drive. Congrats !!!

Beautiful and rare car indeed. About the only thing rarer is the drop head of the same model. Both the Nash and the Indian deserve your attention, but the Nash first. That is a beauty and looks like it will respond to your care very nicely indeed. No question. Strip and repair the entire body, then good paint. I have see what happens to one of these that got left after the paint did that. It was the end for a once magnificent old Mercedes. Done now the panels can be saved. Wait and the entire body will need to be replaced. These cars rust from the inside out because they were sprayed and not dipped at the factory. There are areas of bare metal that will prove fatal once the rust opens the cavities. Spectacular job, guys. Well done! Seeing it clean reminded me of the one thing I hated when these were new. The tail lamp clusters are horrible! The tail lights themselves are those thin strips above the reflectors. The brake lamps are the inner vertical sections and the turn signals are the outer. The sound brings back memories. That's what they were like!

WOW!!!! Man, did that turn out awesome!! Reminds me of the black Mercedes with the red interior you did a few years ago. That combo really popped too once you had it all done. It's definitely a car worth restoring. That rust on the top will only get worse over time, so for sure, get it repaired!! I'd love to see the Nash AND the bike get detailed.
