Karolina Strassmayer - Wonder | WDR BIG BAND

Karolina Strassmayer (alto saxophone) plays her composition “Wonder” together with the rhythm section of the WDR BIG BAND. Produced live as part of the series “WDR Big Band Small Groups” at WDR Studio 4 / Cologne ( June 2024).
Karolina about her composition: “The dictionary defines ‘wonder’ as a feeling of surprise mingled with admiration, caused by something beautiful. I would like dedicate this song called “Wonder” to that very feeling that keeps me going, keeps me creative and engaged in life.”
The WDR BIG BAND is often referred to as the “band of soloists”, as each member is also a convincing soloist and knows how to perform in small groups. This is another reason why the series “WDR Big Band Small Groups” was created, where the musicians can present themselves in different constellations.
