In those early years, they put a ton of effort into the country format. Nash in Detroit had lots of energy, however the Nash brand itself was flopping all over the country. In February of 2020, they rebranded to "New Country 93.1" just ahead of the big Garth concert at Ford Field. That was some of the biggest ratings in the country formats entire run, even causing WYCD to add "New Country" to its sweepers. They launched a local morning show (as the previous Ty Kelly and Chuck were based out of 94.7 NYC at the time.) The new local show was really gaining traction, but just 8 months in, Krissy of the newly formed Broadway and Krissy duo left, two other co hosts came and left, Broadway eveantually hosting a solo show in the morning slot. They later brought in two new hosts, which I heard left as soon as it was publicly announced that the station was in the process of being sold. The Covid pandemic really took a toll on the station too as I felt they were not able to visually get the stations rebranded presence out around Merto Detroit. Eventually they did, but not in the early months of the format. I really enjoyed this second outlet, as they played a very good variety of music. They definitely payed attention to the heritage WYCD, and offered listeners an alternative. As the description says, Gone but not Forgotten
