The Brew live | Rockpalast | 2012

Blut ist dicker als Wasser. Das gilt auch im Falle der britischen Blues-Rock-Formation The Brew, denn Bassist Tim Smith spielt sich gemeinsam mit Sohn Kurtis durch die internationale Musikwelt. Komplettiert wird das generationsübergreifende Trio aus Grimsby von Sänger und Gitarrist Jason Barwick.
Im Jahr 2006 veröffentlichen The Brew ihr gleichnamiges Debütalbum. Mit diesem und ihrem zweiten Album "The Joker" (2008) machen sie sich europaweit einen Namen in der Szene. Ihr Erfolg begründet sich aber vor allem auf ihrem Ruf als exzellente, kompromisslos rockende Liveband.
Davon konnten sich die WDR Rockpalast-Zuschauer beim Classic Rocknacht Special 2009 im Kölner Tanzbrunnen und beim Crossroads Festival in Bonn 2012 bereits ausgiebig überzeugen. The Brew spielen klassischen Rock mit Psychedelic-Einschlag, als käme sie direkt aus dem Jahr 1969. Dabei covern sie auch gerne Jimi Hendrix und Co. Ihren Alben hört man förmlich an, dass sie live im Stehen eingespielt werden, denn diese Band ist dermaßen tight, dass sie sich das erlauben kann und auch nur so funktioniert. Ihr sechstes Album "Shake The Tree" finanzierte die Gruppe über Crowdfunding.
