Hunter’s gun and drug charges date back to 2017 and 2018. However, the pardon extends as far back as 2014, when Hunter began working for the Ukrainian energy company Burisma. Allegedly, Hunter was funneling American tax dollars allocated to Ukraine back to his father, whom he referred to as “the big man” in files found on his laptop.

Can this sort of pardon be legally overturned, due to the non-specific nature of the pardon? You cannot get a warrant to search a house without specifically describing the exact item that you are searching for. You cannot get a warrant to search for "something criminal". The blanket nature of this type of pardon makes it ripe for a legal challenge.

I think that it's fine to pardon Hunter, but not a blanket pardon for whatever he did. He should have to be pardoned for specific crimes. So, fess up to everything you did and receive your pardon for it. I'm guessing that they won't do that, though, because it would mean implicating all the people that were also involved with Hunter's crimes.

16:00 -- RE: "... I expect more pardons to cya himself to include his brother. Culture Casino is correct in that there are others involved that could still be implicated. It will be interesting ti see who may be left holding the bag. Also, if u understand it correctly, Hunter can't invoke the 5th Amendment regarding those matters he has been pardoned from, which could possibly be used on others. This is rather interesting.

Saying this is unprecedented is a stretch, Gerald Ford's pardon for Nixon read "...all offenses against the United States which he, Richard Nixon, has committed or may have committed or taken part in during the period from January 20, 1969 through August 9, 1974." 11 years is longer than that obviously but pardoning all crimes in a period isn't unprecedented. The pardons issued to former Confederacy members during Reconstruction were also pretty broad. It's fine not to like it and there are good arguments why Biden shouldn't have issued it, I'm just saying let's not do the mainstream media thing of saying everything the other side does is unprecedented.

I wonder if he'll pardon P. Diddy in the same way. Though going back maybe 20 years or so... that would make things interesting for the news media to explain off.
@AgungSetyo-ux8fb9 сағат бұрын
But Hunter still needs to be prosecuted for all possible felony charges he possibly has committed. He has to go through all trial processes. And if found guilty of any charge the judge needs to read the sentences and had Hunter pardoned by his father's presidential authority. Hunter must spent years and years and years in judicial due processes to have him sentenced for the criminal felonies so that the power of pardon can be applied on him. Without judicial punishment a pardon can't be applied.

To be honest, I’m not a person who knows what the laws are for a pardon. However, the people who are extremely on one side will do anything to try to discriminate, destroy, or kill a reputation. That’s actually the true reason why they got rid of Splash Mountain because it related to a movie that actually give Walt Disney a political agenda to stand. Even though, it wasn’t shown in products but shown in reality. However, the extremists out there want to paint everyone that they don’t like as supporting the villain of World War 2 and that’s really extreme, I am part of the left kind of people and even I find the extremists criminally irrational. The extremists don’t really matter if they learned from it or didn’t learn from it, all that matters to them is protecting their people. Which at the end the extremists actually become what they hate. Because at the time of World War 2 it started because of hatred of Jews whether if they were born from the past or were in that present time they were treated poorly. So, to be honest it seems ok to protect family but to be honest I don’t think that’s why, I think he knows that the extremists went too far and is worried that the extremists on the right will do the same. However, who knows what could be the true reason.
