That’s Right. “Tiana’s Bayou Adventure” is a new ride for Disneyland & Magic Kingdom Based on Walt Disney Animation Studios’ 49th Animated Feature Film “The Princess & The Frog” (2009). Next year is 2024 and they will get “Tiana’s Bayou Adventure”. “Splash Mountain” Based on Disney’s Cancelled Live Action Film “The Song of the South” has been around at Disneyland for 34 years and at The Magic Kingdom for 31 years. Now it’s time to say goodbye to “Splash Mountain” at Disneyland & The Magic Kingdom in Florida.

What's that old saying? Don't cry cause it's over, smile cause it happened. I think thats the most fitting quote to give to an attraction that has put smiles on millions of faces for 30 years. I myself have made this my favorite attraction at Walt Disney World and it's probably because of all the good memories. The views of the fireworks before splashing into the briar patch, the memorable songs that can get stuck in your head for hours if you let it. For many this was probably one of the first big thrill rides you ever went on. So weather you rode it once or you rode it a million times, remember that the attraction may change but your memories will not

Dear Splash Mountain, You were every kids nightmare when they first went on. "Ah! A 50 foot drop!" But notice that every kid came out with a smile on their face. They're singing songs about a tale of a rabbit that outsmarted his enemies. Everyone loved you, from your opening in 1989, to your end in 2023. In those 34 years, you gave happiness to generations of fans from all around the world. You've had such an impact on thrill seekers, Disney fans, and everyone in between. But, as all things are, eventually things come to an end. We hope Tiana's Bayou Adventure will still make generations to come happy, but we will always remember you as Splash Mountain. We hope you will enjoy your new home in the WDW Magic Kingdom train, but for now, we will miss you. Sincerely, Every Disney Fan

@marioplayr6352 When you said " Every kids nightmare when they first went on. "Ah! A 50 foot drop!" Last ride of Splash Mountain) with genre for a new movie Psychological horror that is going to end in 2023. Dernier tour de Splash Mountain is a 2024 French meta psychological horror film. It was the one in Disneyland, California that opened in 1989. The one at Magic Kingdom in Florida didn't open until 1992. I've been going on that one since 1995, and haven't been to Disney at all since 2019.

@@BKDBrian2 In California Disneyland the soundtrack is unique with Southern jazz festival style beat due to Critter Country's proximity to New Orleans Square whereas WDW and Tokyo Disneyland versions use country western flavor featuring banjos owing to the locations of Frontierland and Westernland expansions respectively.

The cheering and singing crowd as the last logs went by was truly a classic Disney fan moment and thank you so much for memorializing and sharing the moment with us all. If I thought Disney would do a quality upgrade to this classic attraction, I wouldn't be upset but their track record of trashing classic attractions, i.e. Journey Into Imagination, El Rio del Tiempo, ect. gives little hope that turning this classic into another princess meet and greet featuring budget friendly projections is truly sad. It will always have a special place in my heart that another darn princess isn't going to replace.

I was amongst one of the last guests to ever ridden splash mountain. The last operating day of Splash Mountain will always be the most memorable and bestest moment ever throughout the years I’ve been going to Disney World since I was very little. Splash Mountain has been my favorite attraction at MK for a few years that I’ve enjoyed riding the most. I’ve even dedicated my entire day just riding Splash Mountain on its final operating day from park open to past park closing for a total of 7 times in a row. Splash Mountain will always hold a special place in my heart. It will always be my favorite attraction in MK and of all-time. Time stamps for where I can be seen in the video: 0:06 - Right after the opening intro, I can be seen right underneath the entrance sign to the right of the guy wearing a reddish cap and a turquoise shirt 14:26 - 14:34 - After one CM says “Well friends, you’re the last ones…”, I can be seen in the very front of the second to last log for a quick second at 14:31. Then, Tom says “They’re the last guests.” 15:39 - 16:05 - I came down for my very last splash.

My Daughter and I were in our last ride around 9 pm and there was a small crowd cheering for us we were so excited we said forget everything else that is what we are doing the rest of the night. We stood on that bridge with our light up parade toys waving and yelling for 3/12- 4 hours. This was one of the saddest and most amazing Disney moments I have EVER HAD. The energy was amazing and people kept coming up to us and thanking us for doing this and other people came and went cheering but we were not leaving until that last boat. Our heads were pounding we have no voices today but soso worth it! Watching all the videos online and seeing our lights on that bridge is beyond cool, THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO! Our Uber driver picked us up at 1:30 AM. and said what happened? Why are you so late. All we could say was “long story” SPLASH THANKS FOR ALLTHE MEMORIES!

Always my favorite ride at Disney. Would ride it multiple times every trip I went. My most favorite was in 05 riding it three times in a row with my two brothers and mom. There was no line so the workers let us just stay in the same boat. Seeing the fireworks over the castle from the top of splash moutain was amazing. Last ride was this past July.

I grew up with a Disney fanatic for a mom. We went well over 100x (avg 3 day stay) from the time I was 3-18. We were even at MK on 9/11. We used to always go the week after Labor Day because it would always be so slow. We’d go back and forth between Splash and Big Thunder, never a wait. And as much as I loved this ride(and now grown, know the background) I’m happy to see what they do with it. But the only thing I feel sad for…..is WDW isn’t and will never be what it used to be. My kids won’t be able to experience it the way I did.

I got their picture in front of the sign by the Stand By Entrance and we got the Photo Pass ride photo. They love the ride and we have many fond memories of it, but it's not really going away. It will be essentially the same ride, just themed to Tiana. I just hope it's not down for five years like the Railroad!

Song of the south took place after the civil war. The actor of uncle Remus, James Baskett was the first ever black actor to win an academy award. Walt was the man who made that happen. The two were great friends until the end. The movie taught people how to be nice to each other and accept people, no matter what color you are. The black cast had no issues with the movie. Splash mountain was based off the stories of Brer Rabbit. The stories were actually African American slave folk lore. These stories were told around camps when life got tough. Splash mountain showed that regardless of your skin tone, we can have courage, a laugh and an adventure. Disney has destroyed themselves. This was the last nail in the coffin. The fan boys will defend them until the end….but most of us have left. Universal studios all the way. Disney was my home. No longer. Disney officially died the day splash mountain died.

Like, I’m all for black representation and sincerely believe Tiana needed a ride. But it seems so disingenuous to close an apparently “racist” ride just after the protests of George Floyd (even though I know Disney claim the change was coming for years), and then replace it with a black princess. It really just feels like they scrambled to show that they weren’t racist. Sincerely disappointed. I’ve always found Universal to be better but this just solidifies my decision to not return to Magic Kingdom. It’s sad.

Baskett will never get enough recognition for his performance by future generations and that is sad. I was grateful that Disney gave him the role. That being said, as a Black person, a lot of us loved this ride too and didn't want to see it replaced. I was never offended by it. It was really uplifting.

I’ll never forget riding splash mountain for the first time 24 years ago when I was 4 years old . The ride was so awesome and very wet when I went down the water fall . The songs will always be part of my life . But now it’s time to watch the film to honor the ride thanks to my dad who rode this ride too and knowing the movie and characters too .

Such an iconic ride. So happy i've been able to ride it. For our generation it will be missed. But I'm sure it will give joy and make same memories after remodeling for the kids out there today. Sadly for us, time changes. But I'm sure in 30 years kids now will cry when they are our age and it gets a makeover again

Thank you Tom. The best video ever. Got tears in my eyes watching the last boats down and the crowds cheering. I rode Splash Mountain (my most favorite ride ever)at on December 10, 2023. Couldn't of been a better send off that you captured, I will miss you "Splash Mountain". Thanks for the many years of rides and memories ❤️ you gave us and the photo's we will all cherish for years to come. Thanks Tom for the ride and sound affects;I felt like I was riding along side of you. I bet you didn't even mind getting wet!

Very grateful that you filmed/shared this. Good to see the "get wet" sign back, even if for a short time. Thanks for filming a bit of the line, too. Although it wasn't in the video, I did catch that fireworks one you posted on IG yesterday. What timing! If that were my video footage I'd turn it into a gif and display it at home in a digital frame. Once-in-a-lifetime timing there!

My parents went to a Disney park for the first time in 2001, before I was born (was this park) and this was their favorite ride at the time. Then they waited until 2005 to go to another Disney park as the HK park opened. Although I had no chance to experience this ride, this is the pioneer Disney ride of my family, preceeding many of our favorites in HKDL and TDL (the latter we went in 2022). RIP Splash Mountain!

Ok not to be that guy, but hearing people cheering and singing along kind of almost made me cry. THAT'S what its all about. THAT's what imagineering should strive for. Its crazy how unifying of an experience something as seemingly silly as a few songs and a heck of a lot of robots are. This kind of imagineering, this kind go storytelling is dead until something drastically changes. But as it stands right now, this kind of magic has ran out. I can't see anyone cheering this way and singing along to anything they've made in the past decade.

Went to Disney World for the first time at 41 years old last year, and this was definitely one of my favorite rides out of all the parks. Going to miss it, but we’ve already started planning a return in 2025 after it reopens as Princess and the frog.

I wish I'd been able to ride this again before it closed. I rode it once (only once!) as an 8 year old and failed to understand the hype because it scared me so badly. I've never had the opportunity to revisit it, and now I never will, but I've come to have a real appreciation for this ride. I'm sad it's gone. Forever grateful my parents forced me to ride it when we went.

I use to work there and was on the opening crew. It is the only attraction with a talking computer in the control room, if something significant would happen the computer would say it. The attraction also has one of the most complicated intrusion systems.

I've been going to WDW since the 70's. I took my wife Sep 7th 2022, her birthday and our wedding anniversary. She's from the Philippines and her first time at Disney, it was Magical. On top of it my librarian in elementary school would read and act out Brer Rabbit stories, lots of memories... We waited in line for Splash Mountain in the afternoon, long line too, only to get shut down from lightning in the area. So, we left. Luckily later in the evening around 10pm we decided to swing back and hit this beauty, this time no line, and it was awesome. The experience, the thrill, the happiness on her face, the lights of the park. Perfect. I'm incredibly happy we were able to go together. But, I'm wondering since this is such an endeared attraction by so many people, why are they getting rid of it? Are they keeping the Mountain and just re-imagining the ride? Sad like many to see it go. You will not be forgotten.
