I foster an elephant called Shukuru from the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, and I saw her when she was 1 year old in 2010! Hopefully seeing her this Christmas in Tsavo National Park as my aunt has told me she's being transitioned back into the wild. Beyond excited. The work they do at DSWT is incredible!

hey, Louis. i'm 14 and i just wanted to say that you've been such an inspiration to me and thank you for being you :) in exactly three weeks today, i'm going to be getting on a flight to Morocco, along with some other fellow students, to do some humanitarian work out there in one of the villages. it was your videos, initially, that got me interested in doing this. i've seen so many of your trips to various countries round the world and that is what really kick-started my want to do this project. especially now, seeing your Nairobi Vlogs (which are awesome!). i know i've waffled a bit but all i really wanted to say was thank you for helping me help other people. peace out, enjoy life, and keep being you, Louis Cole ;)

+CulpFiction Also, thanks for the PSA about riding elephants Louis! I've heard about the horrible things they do to elephants in Thailand in order to break their spirits so tourists can ride them, and it's really a rather gruesome situation. :(

Dear Louis, I want to tell you how much you inspire me, i know you might hear it and read it every single day but hear me out, the fact that you go around and make questions and care about the people and the environment around you makes you one of the most amazing people on earth. Accepting our mistakes takes a lot and saying "I've ride and elephant before and I'm not gonna do it again because their lives matter" is just amazing, people don't normally realize that every animal is important and that they have feelings, we are destroying our world just because we are the "Smartest", crearly not. Thank you for adopting that baby elephant, thank you for changing peoples lives and thank you for sharing all of your good vibes, trips, adventures and knowledge with us. +Gentle Eats How do you or anyone on this thread feel about breaking horses to ride them? Same as working dogs. It's the same but I bet people don't have issues riding horses or using service dogs . Btw I'm against all animal training and especially breaking them for riding them.

My wife adopted Ndotto for me for our 10th anniversary last November. I saw his stories as soon as they were published on the website, my heart went out to him and I knew I wanted to adopt this little bundle. I had a major heart attach a couple of weeks latter at only 41yrs old. I want to Make it our mission to visit him wile he is still young.

This is so crazy. Our youth circus Group from stuttgart germany has just adopted Ndotto too:D (the elephants actually have many donors). I love that you raise awareness to this topic. the elephants are in desperate need of this. if poaching doesn't stop these wonderful animals will be gone in about 10 years! you are awesome Louis!!!!!! if you guys are interested in adopting an elephant do it is just 25-50 $ a year!!!

So pleased you visited DST its an amazing orphanage! and so pleased you added the bit about elephants in the entertainment industry, the amount of arguments I have with people trying to explain that elephants in particular can't not be trained without physically hurting them, it's an evil evil practice that circuses and elephant hire companies do on a regular basis. companies that lease out elephants to be on TV, a company called Have Truck Will Travel, is one company that does this, and of course the Ringling Bros circuses have severely injured elephants during training and still make the elephants perform while injured. Both of these organisations are in the states, however there are countless people who do is with elephants in Asia, India and Indonesia in particular. I get so worked up about it cos so many people are either oblivious to the truth or they just don't care cos they want their ride or their circus with elephants experience.

This is cool but it makes me glad to be sponsoring children...I love animals, don't get me wrong I'm not saying that it's wrong or bad to fund an elephant... but it's neat because my husband and I have been considering going to visit some of our children that we sponsor. It actually sound similar the $38 dollars goes to medical expenses, food for the family, and education (the program we use has a spiritual component as well)...It's strange that this made me emotional but it really did make me excited to go see our kids one day
