no way to scale with these systems need the universal roll off that all the big guys run makes it easier all around
@rollingops9 күн бұрын
@georgecostanza9387 there are guys running these that have 50-100 cans? I firmly believe marketing and advertising it what scales a business. Personal opinion maybe? But if you stay within your capabilities and niche, why couldn't you operate a very successful business? Obviously you can't go hauling 30 yard containers with it, but if your target market is residential and small construction, why would this system not scale? Do you think the customer cares what rail system the owner has? As long as they get their dumpster on time without hassle. Have you ever seen a "skip" bin system in other countries? Completly different setup. And they are everyyyyywhere. Despite them also having standard rolloffs? Just my opinion. But this is brought up many times and maybe i just get tired of hearing it. Because despite guys operating 7 figure business that utilize these systems, people always say it. So sometimes I just have a disconnect from it.
@georgecostanza93879 күн бұрын
@@rollingops 100 cans is only enough to keep maybe 3 trucks busy tops. the number of trucks you can keep busy matters way more than the number of cans not to mention you pretty much have to buy all your trucks and containers new because theyre uncommon where i can do to any truck dealer and buy a used roll off and any container manufacturer and buy a new or repaired or used roll off box today with little to no wait time just my opinion after doing it for a while
@georgecostanza93879 күн бұрын
@ also for company contracts a lot of them have their own standard roll off boxes especially stores with compactors.
@rollingops9 күн бұрын
@georgecostanza9387 I get what you're saying. But half of my cans are used or custom made from a fab shop. These rails are also so mass produced, that you can find them very reasonably priced either used (because so many business fail, hoping for quick cash) or from a fab shop. Yet, I will agree they are typically higher in price from trailer dealers. But fab companies that Make standard rail are very capable or happy to make these as well for practically the same price. I also think the "keep truck busy" debate is very dependent on city layout (service area in comparison to distance from dumpster yard and landfill). But we could talk about that for days. To each their own mate. There are perks to each system, especially if there are additional services that you offer. and there are many ways to design a business and operate it. Just have to make sure it's making money!

War trailers with bigger axles and a spare pickup truck. Would have suited you so much better. Then then I'm then another. Roll off truck. When nodes roll off go down, you're out of trailers. Don't go down very rarely. You just keep on rolling. If you're truck goes out it just brings in the spare. Pick up and keep on rolling with your trailers. I think that was a really bad move, but you did. With buying roll offs. As far as the flare at the end of the real's, you did the right thing. It's perfect. Don't overkill it? It's not that big of a deal. The world you have is gonna work fine. There's no pressure there and nothing's going to breand probably. Your pistons. Packing, let loose.That's why the packing nut backed off and they're probably cheap cylinders out of China.They're known for that Go back to the trailers, do yourself a favor. Don't mean to burst your bubble.I'm just stating baby the facts from over fifty years of experience in the industry

You're trying to use play toys for serious work. What do you expect. You take a junk, lightweight trailer design and try to design a truck around that. Of course, it's going to fail. This is why those of us with real equipment try to warn people about getting sucked into the cheap equipment packages made by these crap companies. Buy once, cry once, and if you can't afford to do that, then you can't afford to start this business.
@jarrodearly14 күн бұрын
A cylinder backed off and you are making this about the design?? I do believe that even your "real equipment" uses similar cylinders that can fail. This comment was not necessary... Keep up the good work Clayton!
@themobPBA14 күн бұрын
Sooo, how is this a design issue? This is clearly an issue with the hydraulics, not in the design. You may have also forgot.. this is a prototype he’s beta testing. It won’t be perfect. Anyways, great work Clayton!
@rollingops14 күн бұрын
Much love my friends. I see it the way you do as well. This is a beta test. And this "toy" is using a hydraulic cylinder that is rated for over 20 tons. And it failed. I don't see it as a design issue either. Just unfortunate failure that could of been caused by a dozen things. Because it's not on an over cdl, there are guys that will always considered it a toy because "I can't afford big boy equipment." Come on man, you can run any business within a niche. I'm not out here telling people to use this design to move concrete driveways, or stuff entire houses into a can and haul it away. Just like southwest airlines isn't offering to fly me into space. There is money to be made in every niche. And Yet maybe our mini ex, skids, dump trucks, would be considered big boy toys? Maybe? And yea, those in the history of forever have never had a cylinder fail either? Come on mate! Don't be so negative!
@johnnysouza560114 күн бұрын
My dad did this for 3⁰ years working for the city getting a brand new truck every 4 to 5 years, do you know how many cylinders he lost? It happens, any real operator know parts can fail regardless of the price of the unit. Stop acting like you're so much better than others and open your mind to new ideas. If people weren't trying to make new kinds of equipment we wouldn't have equipment at all.
