Keane was a forward/striker before he came to Utd and Ferguson bought him for his midfield ability and it just so happened that he could play in defence as a solid CB. That was extremely rare in the modern game. If Keane was up front he would a solid 20 goals per season striker.

Actually only needed a draw in that game before kick-off because of the superior goal difference and already 2 pts in front. As it turned out could've lost and still won the title as Newcastle only drew their last game. But won in style 0-3 followed by a cup final win against Liverpool. ManCity were relegated, Chelsea finished bottom half, Leeds bottom half, Arsenal outside the top4. A season to look back on fondly.
