Like Hartson said.... “if he played in the snow, he wouldn’t leave any footprints behind” that’s how good Bergkamp was. For me i was fortunate to grow up watching players like: Shearer, ferdinand, sheringham, wright, henry, fowler, zola, saurez, torres, drogba, etc... but, my man Bergkamp was just on a another planet during his time. His touches, goals, techniques, thinking and moving abilities were out of this world. He was always one step ahead of his movement. Absolute genius. It was just a shame Bergkamp couldn’t travel most european games. Otherwise that invincible squad we had could of conquered Europe easily.

Who has a better first touch than Bergkamp. God I loved the PL in the mid 90s. It seemed every team had a bona fide genius. Bergkamp, Cantona, Zola, Di Canio, Juninho, Kinkladze, Ginola, Okocha. Brilliant.

There will never be another Bergkamp - genius on another level, like Zizou was in midfield, but without any of the negative head butting and with a touch more finesse and class...

I really like Gerrard and hope he finds a way back into the game. Too good and too much of a loss to football to not have him in it. Respect. And I'm a hammer..

Big John! Excellent striker himself. Larsson was a class of his own, though. Such a wonderful footballer, wasn’t just a goal scorer - the man could do everything. Criminally underrated outside of Scotland.

The whole point of being a striker is to strike. Scoring goals is the defining act of a striker. No one scored more goals than Shearer. There’s no debate. He’s the best striker ever in the PL. Don’t confuse speed, skill or even winning with this. Shearer wasn’t fastest, most skilful or even the most successful. But as a striker, no one has ever come close to him. Some of the comments here...it’s laughable really.

Club de Fútbol And what did Shearer have to show at the end of his career in terms of silverware??? Just 1 premier league medal😂😂😂 whereas Thierry Henry won every major honor from the premier league, fa cup, champions league, world cup etc... Titi is the greatest player to have ever played in the EPL.
