Impressions of a character only change if they themselves change or you get new information about them. You saying he didn't change at all gives me the impression that a. You're not very far into the series or b. You didn't really pay attention to his character And for a fact I don't love Bakugou. I think he is a well written character and I apprechiate hsi growth, but I don't love him.

Devil's advocate. You can have whatever mental state you want, still doesn't justify the things Bakugo does. He totally deserves about 95% of the hate he gets, his only saving grace is that he's technically still a kid and therefore should be guided, not shit on. Basically a variant of an Inferiority Complex where a person believes that they have to be Superior, be #1, or they are worthless. another thing about Bakugo not believing Deku about him just getting is quirk. You have to remember that for everyone in this verse, a power is something you're born with. Which then develops and reveals itself within your first few years of life. It's completely unheard of to develop one in your teens, and even more ridicules to say someone gave you a power. It would be like if a dark haired person suddenly had perfect blond hair, and they just said that someone gave them the genetics to have blond hair instead. What's more likely. That they're telling you the truth and now have different genetics? or that they had been dying their hair black this whole time?

Good understanding on Bakugo. He's been raised since he was a kid as superior to all others, so superiority complex. Add to that, everyone treated Izuku(a.k.a. Deku) as the worst of the worst, and then... Deku tries to help him when he got in trouble, thus causing an inferiority complex ON TOP of the superiority complex he already had. Needless to say, that's a bad mix, eh?

I am so glad you touched on Bakugo (kachan)as a character! and something that I’m really glad you noticed is his intelligence and self-awareness. Everyone looks like the character and for some reason only sees his combat power (which is really high) and as a result, they rarely notice how insanely smart this kid is! He very quickly realize he could use the recoil from his explosions to give himself extra speed and has already begun adapting that to use his quirk in other ways as well. Huge thanks to Azu. You've got Bakugo figured. He's got issues, and lashes out to cope. Anger is his default. He's going to have to look inward with care to stop being a braying jack @$$ though. It's a class exercise at a school. If they didn't analyze how things played out, this school would be an academic let down. A good teacher tells you want can be improved. Ehhhh, she's not entirely wrong, but nuclear devices are sturdy and tend to be fail safe over fail deadly. It is actually established policy to use conventional explosives to disable/break them in an emergency. It's worth noting that All Might is still new to being an actual teacher. His time with Deku was basically as a gym coach and dietician. So...... minor spoiler, but the tech to give the invisible chick invisible clothes does exist. Another hero (who's notably a guy" has a hero costume made from his hair to work with his power. So she could have an actual costume every bit as invisible as her. But she doesn't. sigh This is one of the better shonen, but it is still constrained by annoyances that shonen can't seem to break free of. Shoji might make your skin crawl, but he is very capable and versatile. Shoto is easily one of the strongest in the entire class for raw power. Mineta. Oh how I long to see the grape become a stain. One of the best things of My Hero is when it knows to buck the conventions for a better story. It doesn't always, even when I feel it should, but there are areas it sets itself apart. As a long time viewer I get it. 20 students counting Deku, the faculty, other classes, pro heroes, and more. There's a LOT of names. While Bakugo's ego is a major (self destructive) part, the idea of passing on Quirks is basically seen as impossible and just nonexistant. When Deku was first told about the idea he was freaking out over how it could change potentially everything society knew about quirks. So it's just not an idea that computes for Bakugo. Deku may not be the only thing getting Bakugo worked up, but he is a familiar punching bag, making the sweet bean into a lightning rod for Bakugo's anger. There's a lot of characters people get attached to in this show. It's not hard to see why it's represented by cosplay at so many cons. See you next time.

9:00 - I always have trouble remembering half of Class 1-A are teenagers. The other half, it's obvious that they are. Japanese high school settings don't always tip me off, because my brain just goes, "Oh, right, it's like college." Maybe it's because the characters don't really go home at the end of the day after class. At least, they don't really show them actually going home very often, and in season 2, the students are in dorms. So that's probably why it's throwing me off. Boarding schools are really not that common in the US, so whenever they have characters going to school and not have relevant things happen while they're at home, it always tricks my brain into thinking they're college students. I had the same problem with Beastars. And you can't tell me that their behavior should tip me off. You KNOW some people going to college act exactly like they did in high school, for all 4 years of their degree.

Momo Yaoyorozu, the booba character you mentioned, actually had a bit of controversy when her character was adapted for the anime. Her quirk uses body fat to work, so the mangaka gave her a little bit of tummy fat, which makes sense for her. However, that was completely erased from the anime and later on from the manga design as well. In addition to that, multiple characters in the female cast of this show have had their chests made larger than in the manga, which is kinda weird, and one of the darker skinned characters have been made significantly lighter (to those who know the rabbit woman, the hexcode for her skin tone in the manga covers is #cd7864 and in the anime it is #e3a983 . The difference in skin tone is pretty fucking big.)

Manga cover colors aren't 1 to 1 though, its all about what pops on the page with the color palate of the background, or specific art style so that last one isn't necessarily like the first ones. Likewise that carries over to the anime, based on the brightness of the show and color palleted used overall things will be tweaked or changed, like Bulma's hair for example. Its also not uncommon for colors to be outright different from what they are even specified to be too ie. a character with canonically blue hair having a shade of green on the manga cover for artistic reasons or because of the ink the author used. If we went purely by volume cover art, like 90% of shounen anime characters would need to have darker skin in their adaptation. Like One Piece's original(and better) but technically incorrect palate. Also when it comes to proportions, that comes down to a standardized art style for the anime which is usually based on a mix of where the manga's current art is at and what the studio is accustomed to. Add to that Horikoshi's art is inconsistent in the weekly releases that muddies things too. Plus then depending on who works on what scenes and any outsourcing done its going to further cause deviations. There are some scenes that look absurd because of that.

Baskugo just sent Midoriya to the hospital (metaphorically speaking) and what is he thinking about? Is he worrying about how badly he injured is fellow student and childhood friend? Is the worrying about how much pain he cause him? Is he thinking about how he wronged him? No. He is thinkng solely about how he could have lost this match. That should be all you need to know about how uncaring and selfish he is. At times it feels like Bakugo is a better villain than most actual villains of the series. But at least that leaves him a WHOLE LOT of room to grow. Also it feels like Midoriya suffering from Stockholm Syndrome here... In his position I would not give a single shit about what that bully thinks and if I cared about him feeling bad, then only in terms of "Serves you righ to be the one suffering for a change." Seriously, after being abused by Bakugo for years, thinking they are friends isn't normal. Don't worry about their Japanese names. Soon enough they'll get nicknames, that are so much easier to remember. ^^

Japan's kinda weird about sexualization and character ages, so I just choose to interpret UA as being a college and the students being adults so I don't have to think too hard about the moral implications. Because honestly, most anime characters could easily be adults and still make sense, even appearance-wise
