one of golfs toughest formats, you should try greensome, both drive, pick the best one and play alternate shots from there.

That wasn't horrendous Dennis, 90's ok, especially in Autumn conditions. Maybe you had higher expectations cos Steve's a single digit, but you didn't have any triple+. Maybe scramble next time as it's usually a bit more fun and definitely more forgiving than Alternate shot 😅

What you call a shank with your driver....is not a shank....lol. A shank is when you either hit it early...and it goes to the right.....or more often....hit it off the edge of your club...and drive it sideways. What you did was an obvious pull.....clearly from your body being off balance.....out of synch with your swing. Knowing that you're actually doing that really helps, if you want to fix that stuff. Do you see how you lifted up your body at the top of the backswing? That completely threw off your downswing, as that is the moment where you come down....not up. You basically came over the top and pulled it. You swing around....rather than down on the ball....or, let's say....to the low point of your driver swing.....to keep the swing inside. All a process, but gotta call a pull a pull...so you work on those mechanics as a routine.
@BogeyGolfUKАй бұрын
The definition of a shank it hitting the space between the hosel and the club head ✌️ I watched it back in the edit I almost missed the ball buddy 😂
@joeidaho5938Ай бұрын
@@BogeyGolfUK Actually, on a shank to the left...for a right hander, you're actually hitting the inside of the club face. Ya....you did do that, but what was clear was that you were already pulling, to begin with, when you did that over the top movement at the top of your downswing. Even if you would have hit the face, you would have put it out on the left.....which is your common miss. To be clear, the hosel does not protrude on a driver. You hit the rear part of the face, because you swung around the ball, rather than through it. On an iron, a normal shank happens from hitting between hosel and face.....and it normally goes to the right. A complete miss to the left is a rare thing....lol.

@@joeidaho5938 moral of the story = I suck at golf 😂
@joeidaho5938Ай бұрын
@@BogeyGolfUK Lol...that is not the moral of the story. I just point it out, as this stuff can all be fixed. Sometimes, I think you just don't take the time to compose yourself well.....probably because you're filming also. That little lift you did at the top of your downswing.....has gotta be a good signal of what you're doing. I can only guess at what gets you to do that. Overswinging? Just a guess, though.
