You are so correct Brian. Creating helps re-set / heal the mind. Our brains need time to file away all the BS we throw at them day to day. mowing the lawn, washing the car, doing dishes and YES....playing with toys and building Star Wars rooms allows our minds to go on cruise control for a while so it can file away all the important stuff we take in. This is a necessary process for us and very healthy. Very cool diorama you got going there by the way. Did I see Luke trying to keep Han from seeing Han & Leia? LOL

I took a coffee break from building my Buddy the Elf says goodbye to the North Pole and sets sail for the shores of the Candy Cane Forest diorama I am building for my father-in-law's Christmas tree train set (last year it was several scenes from Christmas Story - things you learn along the way, how to sculpt a 1:48 scale turkey carcass and convey that Flick's tongue is stuck to the flagpole - next year will likely be Gimbel's, working my way up eventually to an eight-foot-tall Nakatomi Tower) and watched this. It was the perfect motivation boost, the sense of community you foster is always so worthwhile, and then I come out of it with a technique I can immediately employ - plaster will be the perfect thing to sculpt the snow mounds atop of the pink foam glaciers I've sculpted to surround the epoxy resin ocean. Thank y'all for sharing your world with us. I hope you have an amazing holidays, and I look forward to seeing how this all grows in the coming year!

It's like you were reading my origin story to me.. Was world building even a term in 1983? I don't know but scale modelling has always been an obsession of mine. Started the same way with my Dad showing me a hobby shop in the mall with a great train table. I have so many small scale ideas (1:18 batmobile display for instance) and a couple larger ideas (Legacy Falcon or Razor Crest). Free time is so hard to find these days, but you're right that we need to take time to enjoy ourselves more. As children AND as 47 year old children..

I love watching your vids! I always get little ideas as you progress. This time, I saw the TIE fighter in the circular area in that book you were flipping through. Then this idea spawned. You know those magnetic field levetation, desktop things? Where the object floats on a magnetic field seeming to defy physics? How cool would it be if you could do that with a TIE fighter in your diorama?? It would just sorta float there as though it was in a maintenance area and they were testing the ion engines or something. Just a thought! Keep it up man!! 👍🏼
