You could lift the 3T with slings. As the lifting point would be closer to the centre of mass. But you would probably want to get the lorry near to where you want to be, lift and drive the truck out from underneath.

You mentioned in Tuesdays video you needed some straw and was going to get in touch with Olly blogs. Tell him to bring some (using the Fastrac of course) and also bring along his guys, they have been doing some maintenance on his yard by ripping up and replacing the concrete. They have done a cracking job so after dropping off the straw they will get those channels in in no time. You’ve got a lot going on at the moment Tom but will be worth it in the end. Being a rancher, many a time someone would show up at the door, which was a mile and a half from the road, stuck in the ditch. Dad would get the chains and the Ford tractor, call the PD, tractor wasn’t street legal! And go pop them out. Helping hands keep the world on its axis!!

I’ve laid kilometres of box culvert like that in Australia over the years, either they are installed upside down over there, or you have it backwards. In Australia we have the horse shoe shaped culverts with the precast side facing up, and your “lids” are actually the bases. I have never seen it laid with the opening facing up, and capped of with a lid., not the way it is done here. We more often than not pour a slab to place them on a bed of “compo” on the slab, which is a fairly strong and dry sand and cement mix. We then use “Denzo” tape on the top and sides of the joins, and fill the gaps with more compo, or concrete if the gaps are big. We quite often use precast slabs to lay them on also, but one continuous slab is better. Can’t wait to see if we really are upside down here in the land down under. Maybe it is different for manure handling? Like I said, I have never seen these culverts laid with the precast side on the floor of the trench.

Take it the ones you fit are for water, guess it’s cheaper too as no lids to buy. Some of the lids look to be slotted so the slurry from the collecting yard can be scraped into the channel and away to the store. Wouldn’t want to clear a blockage if you couldn’t get the lids off 💩 💩
