People can say what ever they want about this movie, but this entire scene is spine chilling!! The power and desperation of a whole, small, seemingly insignificant society working to be heard by other worldly beings to save their lives is incredible

@michaelwilliamybarra24098 ай бұрын
@@awesomenick9539 I may not be as fully versed with all of John Powell's solo scores, but I'd put his score for Robots within/near the same pedigree as this(especially for the Chop Shop intro[both together and independent of Tom Waits Underground], and the Cross-Town Express scene), in terms of how it orchestrally portrays the world envisioned in both films(a city literally made of and by living machinery, or a slightly more vast/epic rendering of two worlds envisioned by Dr. Seuss). It's also worth noting that Powell was also a member of Hanz Zimmer's music studio and has collaborated with him on a few film scores as well(including The Road to El Dorado and the first two Kung Fu Panda films).

I know it's not the same thing, but it kinda reminds me of movies that involved aliens conquering and destroying Earth. Just FYI, but I still like your idea of finding extraterrestrial life with this song.

Well 1. They're on a spec. When the camera zoomed into it the spec had firbres, therefore there's not actually a sky and space in their world doesn't exist so why would there be an observatory? Older scientists and perhaps the council already knew about their world, Why do you think they abandoned it and blocked it off. 2. Jojo knew this would happen, therefore explaining why he believed his father when no one else would. The council were acting pretty weird about it. He had seen the world through the observatory and built a large music machine in case his world was in danger. 3. The observatory may be strong. It's possible that they would see Hortons world too and knew they could be killed any second.

4:33-5:04 This part has always been my absolute favorite of this song, because it really represents JoJo’s desperation because he’s basically going out on a limb. Because he know he’s got like ONE SHOT-one chance to see if his idea of yelling that one “Yop!” at the top of Whoville’s tallest building will be the one to break through the clouds in time so their world can be saved. And that yell ended up being the one to save them, and I think it’s really incredible to see how John Powell personified that in this portion of the song.

Also the fact that their world was always in danger and the who's trying to shrug it off during the time Horton tried taking the spec somewhere safe is kind of jarring, probably even mind breaking and existential having to have face it and know that your world was defenseless now out of nowhere without any clear explanation, depending that anyone hears them since, they're extremely small compared to anything in the jungle to the point no one even care on the possibility there's people living in spec, both Horton and the Mayor (Ned) could only communicate by speech so, to that extent it was clearly impossible to do anything else to see what was going on besides the effects of their world crumbling, weather changing or cycle of days getting absurdly abrupt.
