Hi Joe, I am surprised that you didn't decide to drive, considering that you aren't very far from the border. You know , I was thinking the same thing about finding a place to escape to during the winter months when i finally come to Bg full time. I was thinking of Buying a caravan and driving all the way down south to Greece, or probably flying to Egypt. Hope to see you again soon. take care to you all.

Awesome video! As a Bulgarian, I always find it interesting to see foreign perspectives on Bulgaria (or how to leave it 😛)

Been thinking of you guys lots! It's so close and easy but also would love to take you with us too. There is so much fun stuff for kids, I've been adventure playgrounding, softplaying and trampolining my heart out for the last few weeks.

I thought I recognized the Kordon in Izmir. It's a great place to walk along and enjoy the sea views. Did you take a ferry across to Karsakya for a cup of tea ? You could have done a lot worse than ending up in Izmir, though of course Antalya is particularly nice at this time of year - often bright, warm and sunny with wonderful clear views. Hope you have had a good break !
@alternativelivingbulgaria Жыл бұрын
Thanks Michael. Yes lots of ferries! We've had a great time in Izmir and definitely coming back. But for now we've found some amazing locations only a 3 hour drive from home, so that might be next 😊

I'm a bit shocked at how much electric and wood has gone up in b.g,but this is such a Great post because it shows people an alternative with being so close to the Turkish border...it's been a while since I last watch the channel so seeing your little one so big wow...I loved how she said (I don't know daddy)funny☺️☺️....where you are looks really nice everything shops,sea, boulevards and walks👍.... I'd also like to say that my thoughts are with the people of Turkey/Syria who have been affected by the earthquake Britain has open arms♥️♥️♥️.....R.I.P...

Thanks Brian. Yes it's so tragic watching the scenes out of Turkey and Syria 💔 we are looking currently at ways to help.

What is wood price per cubic meter now in BG? Sad too hear its so expensive!🔥
@alternativelivingbulgaria Жыл бұрын
Around 150 lv per cubic at the moment. Luckily we've got some rotten old roof beams to chop 😀

Are you there to help Turkiye? Do you have friends in the earthquake area? Well enjoy your holiday🤗
@alternativelivingbulgaria Жыл бұрын
We were here for a few weeks before the earthquake. We looked at heading to that area a few days before it hit but couldn't find tickets, which was a huge blessing looking back. We do have friends affected but we haven't lost anyone ❤️

Did the Turkish border guards give you money to buy them duty-free whiskey? The idea was that they’d then sell it with a huge markup in Istanbul. They wouldn’t let our train from Dimitrovgrad leave Kapitan Andreevo until all passengers on board stopped at the duty-free located there.
@alternativelivingbulgaria Жыл бұрын
Haha, no, I haven't heard that one before, though I have heard and know of a few others 😅 many of the wealthiest people around here are former border guards from years back.

Why not the train over the Bulgarian Turkey border?
@alternativelivingbulgaria Жыл бұрын
The train is great and it leaves our home towns around midnight every night and takes you to Istanbul. Haven't checked for a while but that did cost just £10 a ticket a few years back. Next time however, we'll definitely be driving.

@@alternativelivingbulgaria I wondered why you didn't drive, are there issues driving in Turkey?
@alternativelivingbulgaria Жыл бұрын
@@TheRealRaygor We actually wanted to, but had to leave a vehicle for my mum who was house and animal sitting. Two days before we left the clutch went on our other Jeep, so we headed off on foot. Next time definitely driving!!!!

Hi Joe, I’m planning a visit to BG from USA in early Nov. Looking to start my visa D paperwork and start a company to buy a fix up home and travel van. The US is unmanageable for me anymore.
