Brousseau has to be one of the most patient men I've ever seen. Like, he's seen so much crap by now, he's done with everything, very relaxed and laid back, while being a fine Captain. Your Propmaster/Outfitter deserves MASSIVE respect for the boots and bomber jackets. They remind me, _precisely,_ of what the Away Team Jacket would have looked like, in the uniform generation before TMP and TWOK, looking more like the TWOK ones. I have to admit, I don't collect any Trek merch, but I would take one of those jackets. Probably Red, since my day job is as a security guard.. heh. I'm literally a Red Shirt, IRL.

THANKS!.. Brousseau's patience is thanks to the writing and the way my writer knows how I am in real life. Special thanks for comment about my costumes!.. We "mere mortals" who aren't actors have to at LEAST look sharp if we can't act. I have some GREAT actors, and I feel like a "five' at a Miss American Pageant alongside them sometimes, but I have to try to create the best costumes I can for everyone. The Landing Party Jacket is my favorite creation! I like to stress the details such as boots, costumes, rank, and patches on our uniforms. If its not 100% accurate, I strive to make it look logical and TOS appropriate.

@@gdavisohio Given the Landing Party Jackets we saw in TOS "The Cage," and ST:ENT, I think given the era the rest of TOS was shot in, a "nylon-looking" Bomber Jacket would fit perfectly with what the propmasters would have done, if their budget didn't consist of a box of tenpenny nails, electrical tape, and whatever they can scrape up from other, unused sets and prop rooms. And don't sell yourself short on the acting - you're ALL good! ST:Dominion is, over all, an amazing series, and I really enjoy everything you folks have put out. You're all an absolute class act.

The plot took me back to TOS. Eager young adventurer, potential tragic loss and an ending that I could see coming. Very much a homage to those early days when self sacrifice was the order of the day for episodes in the 1966-1969 era. I did enjoy the cast, as always, worked well together giving the impression they had served together many years. The reactions of the crew let you believe they are in territory they actually live in. "better than what CBS is doing" - if you mean that sincerely, you're an idiot. Discovery finally added what Trek had been missing all these decades - realism in terms of relationships, realism in terms of violence, finally some awesome special effects while still maintaining the awesome quality of characters we've been used to. To be fair though, Picard isn't nearly as good as Discovery in writing or characters, so I'm really only talking about Discovery. If this isn't just nostalgia that's keeping you from having an open mind about Discovery, then you just have INCREDIBLY poor taste. And before you even think about questioning my Trek chops, I was president and founder of the fastest growing student organization in West Virginia University's history - and that group was The Trekker's Guild of WVU, founded in 1993.

As I was writing it, I was thinking that Wayne, (and then Captain Kataka) would slowly, gradually learn how to manipulate matter in more intricate ways and at longer and longer ranges. if they had remained alive and part of the creature long enough, they would have become much more powerful. Able to manipulate passing ships or maybe even things on nearby planets. But to be perfectly honest, sometimes as I write a story, I'm interested in getting from point A to point Z in the story and I fail to consider every possibility. Believe me, I pick apart my scripts and find all sorts of logical problems long after its WAY TO LATE to do anything about it. Thanks for the kind words! There is much more coming. Plans are already forming for another shoot in early 2022.

@@RandyWrenn thank you for the explanation. The episode certainly left a lot of food for thought, and I describe the ending as bittersweet. The special effects were really professional (not that I am an expert, mind you), the script and acting first rate, and the plot and pace perfect!

How do people know what that mute woman is saying with her sign language if they are not looking at her? Especially the crew of the other ship.
@RandyWrenn2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and thanks for asking! Our Universal Translator has been programmed to recognize and interpret non-verbal language as well as verbal. It translates her sign language into English and repeats it aloud for anyone nearby to hear. It also can send her messages over the intercom or through subspace radio when needed. When people talk to her, their words are translated into sign language and displayed on a heads up display in her glasses. We've only shown that once in the episode "Silent Acknowledgement" and it was briefly talked about in the episode "A Passenger With Baggage"

Fantastic episode! Astrid was the obvious choice/solution from the time she knew her husband was there. Also, that moon hitting the planet would have sent out a shock wave bigger than the onefrom Praxis' explosion in ST VI, The Undiscovered Country.

"that moon hitting the planet would have sent out a shock wave bigger than the onefrom Praxis' explosion" Really depends on the composition of the moon, its velocity and the composition of the planet it's hitting. Seemed that much of the moon's mass was replaced by the lifeform which appeared to be rather "mushy". Also, the moons velocity was greatly reduced by the tractor/antigravity beam from the USS Dominion. Would be interesting if spores somehow survived and the lifeform took root on the new world.

I'll be real surprised if that young Lt gogetter Brach beams up vertical, its the red shirt legacy from Kirk. Sorry Astrid, he wasn't, he was over eager an an accident waitin to happen! Strikin the Captain once, an he told her he'd let it go, then suddenly theres consequences. Not, good, writer, not good at all! Is Makti Hammer any relation to Granthars Hammer. Not as good as the first one.
@RandyWrenn3 жыл бұрын
I don't recall the Captain saying he would let the first slap slide. That WOULD have been terrible writing. No self respecting Captain would do that. Seems like he said "You only get one of those" when she attempted a second slap. In other words, "You caught me off guard with the first one, but I'm watching you now" There was probably some subconscious connection between those two hammers. Not intentional. I agree. Brach was over confident and under cautious. He couldn't help it though It was jsut the way he was written. LOL Thanks for watching! And thanks for the feedback!

I guess the only thing to do is stop making the show! Glad you pointed that out. It will save us a LOT of time, energy, and money! You're my hero! Sorry fans! No more Dreadnought Dominion! I know! I know! Some of you really like our show. But you see, "A Starship to Guide Me by" has reminded us that Older or overweight people of lesser value and therefore don't have the same freedom of free speech and artistic expression as good, younger, thinner people. Hey, if you have a problem with that, take it up with "A Starship to Guide Me By" (If that's his real name) He has removed the veil from before my eyes. And lastly, I sincerely apologize for being older and heavier than judged acceptable by the aforementioned Mr "ASTGMB" Thank you, and goodbye!

What difference does it make how much they eat or what their bodies look like? There are alien species in the federation with "overweight" body sizes by human standards as their norm (e.g. Tellarites). The message of Star Trek is infinite diversity in infinite combinations.. sorry if that makes you shallow body shamers mad.

Overall you guys did REALLY well for a fan production, however, the editing and casting need some work. Some of your BEST actors were in tertiary roles when they should have been front and center. The casting of the couple was horrible - the male was young enough to be her son and he's supposed to be her husband? Not a believable couple AT ALL. And Lynn Bancroft can't act worth a damn. She shouldn't have been cast AT ALL. The people who played Quincy (@ con position) and the 2nd Engineer/transporter chief and the science officer (blue shirt @ bridge aft station) were the very best actors out of all of you, and they all had minor parts. I think I'm referring to Chief Marx and LCdr O'Brien but I may have the names mixed up. You really should have had stronger actors for Captain, 1st Officer and the more prominent roles. But overall, it was one of the better fan productions Ive seen, although most of them are really bad, so I'm not sure that's saying a lot.
