The acting was sometimes uneven, but the story still conveys the themes of friendship, duty and humanism that make for great Trek. Clearly a labor of love, thanks for posting this.

Great story 😁👍 It had me wondering if their second crewman may have actually been changed and was making himself appear unchanged.

No captain worth his/her salt can execute someone sight unseen. They must be certain even if obtaining that certainty costs them their life. Her actions here were totally correct and the Admiralty would be fools not to promote her. There is a reason General Order 24 exists and this type of situation is that reason. Kirk's threatened use of it in 'A Taste of Armageddon' is improper use of it. I feel sorry for Mr. Klawitter having to kill his captain, but he was totally correct. Allowing such a power free reign in The Federation would be catastrophic and would ensure the destruction of The Federation. And one man's life is not worth the destruction of The United Federation of Planets..

"If I'm going to murder a man, I'll see his face first." A great line. I love that Gabriel wanted to make absolutely sure the captain and XO couldn't be saved before she carried out the hardest order. I would do the same.

I thank you for pointing out just how difficult it was for Kirk to kill his longtime friend. In the trilogy "My Brother's Keeper", written by Michael Jan Friedman, The story of Kirk's friendship with Mitchell goes deep, long before the Enterprise, they met on the Republic. Both serving on the Constitution and the Enterprise. The book tells of a journey Kirk felt he had to take. To go to Gary's parents and not only tell them that their son had died but at whose hands held his fate. Gary Mitchell's death was very emotional to me after reading those books. Pointing out the hard task it was for Kirk in this episode makes me feel in a way, that you're giving tribute to the ultimate friendship, and the ultimate sacrifice.

indeed hell I say this in defense not just of Gene Rodenberry but of JJ Abrams. All of you may hate JJ Abrams but unlike Alex Kurtzman JJ Abrams took the hate like a sensible mature man and never buckled under the hate compared to Kurtzman he was a kind of Calm and mature producer and showrunner that im sure many show runners of classic trek and mabey even Gene Rodenbery himself would be if he were still with us. Thats what makes JJ Abrams a mature dignified Showrunner and producer is that hes able to stay calm under hate or anything that comes at him even compared to fan film producers

Ms. Avalon, you made me cry in this one. I"ve not cried over a Star Trek film since Spock died in Star Trek 2 The Wrath of Khan. Well done to all especially Lee Drew and Tuck Stevens. I say tbis not just because they sre my friends, they helped tie the story together. First Officer Klawitter has become my new favorite XO. Ms. Avalon, your captain is a teacher, that is exactly what the Deimos needs, great work Potemkin Pictures Family!

I'm retired. I was asked to take the "Center Seat" and I could not do it. It's nothing I ever wanted. My mom had to take it as the recovery room head nurse. When they asked me to take over for my shift in charge of nuclear missiles, I messed it up. After that day, I swore off ever supervising anybody ever again. I might take that position now, if I have to. That was back in 1985. Can't say I would enjoy it thought. I would much rather be a library aide or a low-level computer technician than that. Just a suggestion, perhaps you could build an episode around that idea.
