I'm only a lowly section hiker but I've been section hiking the trail for 15 or 16 years now. You and Leo have inspired me to get my behind in gear and finish North Carolina, Tennessee and Maine. Okay, where to start; All I can say is Absolutely Awesome! Many months back, a KZbin vloger popped up called "I Suck at Hiking." I thought, what a weird name. I watched you and Leo prepare for and start your journey on day 0. I watched every morning as you posted while your viewers and subscribers grew. I watched you seem to almost give up many times, but you didn't. I watched your wonderful wife totally support you every step of the way. I watched when all hope looked lost and some amazing things happened or some amazing strangers appeared to help you on your way. I watched your smart Leo lead you up the trail just exactly like he knew the next step. I watched a man change and grow over the last five months. I went back and watched this a second time--first time with a small screen; second time with a full screen view. It was such a great video showing your emotions as you neared the finish of 5 months of adventures. I liked the music you added and the fact that you didn't speak. This made your journey up the mountain a reflective time anticipating the stop in front of the sign. I can't explain it exactly but it definitely was powerful. Hope you and Leo are not getting "antsy" not getting up and hiking the trails, but are enjoying the time with your wife on the easier trip back to Florida via car.

Thank you & Leo for this wonderful journey. Your time with Leo doing this has been a time of healing for me. My husband and I have been active rescue folks for over 30 yrs. so Leo caught my attention right away when I was reviewing this year’s new thru hikers to follow. About 2 months into your hike we lost 3 of our senior dogs in quick succession. My blue tick hound, Sophia aged 19 was the first to leave , next was our little poodle, Chloe aged 16, the third was my best friend, Spike aged 15. Spike was a street dog but the smartest dog we ever had. We still have a 17 yrs. old shih tzu named Daisy. She is now pretty much blind & deaf. Our oldest cat , Hester, was the first to leave this group of pets. She had cancer for a second time and was just too old to beat the terrible C a second time. We do still have 3 more semi-senior kitties left. Daisy & the 3 cats will be our last pets because of our own senior ages. Anyway, Leo’s ability to do this journey has been a daily highlight & part of our healing. It was a pleasure to view from afar the hike you two have made & to meet your family along the way. Anyway, thank you from our hearts for your beautiful and honest journey. It has been a true pleasure.

I lost my 14 yr old black lab last October. It was time to let him go, but I still feel awful. Now I don't know how much longer I'll have my senior cat. I can't imagine what you've been through. I purposely chose Mike because he was hiking with a dog.

we helped begin 2 rescues locally and fostered for 30 plus years.. All our animals have always come from pretty sad situations so it’s been a wonderful journey for us to love them unconditionally and help them heal their souls and get back to a great health. We won’t foster at this point because our animals are older. My husband and I are both seniors and not sure what the future holds to be honest. Both of us have health issues we are dealing with also. We do continue to help financially support the rescues we help found so that’s really our only involvement at this time .

I put off watching your summit video because I knew I'd cry through the whole thing. So if I waited, I thought I'd be able to watch most of it without tears, wrong. Lol. Also waited for the perfect time and watched it on the big tv instead of my phone. I've been following you and Leo for a long time. Michael and Leo, Congratulations on this amazing accomplishment! Michael, your transparency through this journey was a blessing to all of us. We witnessed the joys and challenges a thru hiker might experience. I started in the class of 2024, but had to end my hike due to knee problems, so thanks for being extra and showing us those blue blaze views I missed. I cried with you the last 10 minutes of your final ascent to the summit. I imagine words can't express the emotions you had. Currently wondering if you had to buy Leo a treadmill for home? 🤣

I followed you all the way, todays video, summit day was epic, Katahdin !! I bet you were happy to sit on that sign! Leo as well!! I always wanted to do this as well, I had 2 surgery's, and now facing my third failed one. I can never do this trip,10 screws,8 bars in my back.....and now facing more. I also followed Capt. Jack, and Fortune Adventures as well, and Bandit, and Blue grass. I also followed Jay wonders out also. All you guys are great, and Leo!! I can't help financially, on a fixed income, but would love to, since I cannot do this trip, so I thank you, you said your from Florida? At 6:36 - What a gorgeous Waterfall ! Amazing finish Michael !....that Leo is some kind of special Dog and companion ! I'd say Leo has EARNED a Doggy Spa day after this! So happy for the both of you...feels great to set a lofty goal and work to pursue it to completion. You, Leo, and your Wife's support at times have made some fantastic "Rocking Chair" moments. There will be a time in your later lives when you are in your rocking chair and have all of this to reflect back on...thinking of Leo the wonder dog...and knowing, "Yeah! We did it...we HIKED from Georgia all the way to Maine! Turns out, you don't suck at hiking so much after all - HA!

Congratulations on a safe and successful through hike. Mt. Kahtadin is my favorite place in the US and I’ve been to the Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Zion, and many other places. Probably because I lived in Maine for almost half of my life and have been to the top seven times myself. I’m too old now but I never pass up a summit video. You had perfect weather for your climb and that is not always the case. Happy trails!
