I'm so happy you're exploring Arch Enemy for the first time and finding so much joy! They announced a European tour and an Asian tour recently. They may do a North American tour soon in the summer, so keep an eye out for that. I saw them last year in Australia and they were by far the best concert I've been to and I've seen way too many. Arch Enemy really are in a league of their own 🔥 Btw I noticed there are always Angela fans telling the reactors that she's better than Alissa. She's not better, as it's rather more of a matter of preference. We all love Arch Enemy, so putting Alissa down isn't being productive. Yes, I once met a drummer who was literally insulting Alissa, and said he played in a band that once supported Arch Enemy back when Angela was still the vocalist. This toxic divide needs to stop. Alissa has been doing an amazing job for 10 years keeping the band and music going ❤

Alissa is great, but for this song you have to check out the Angela Gossow era of Arch Enemy. She was the vocalist prior to Alissa (AE's second vocalist overall). She stepped away as lead vocalist back around 2013 picking Alissa as her replacement. She still remains with the band as their manager. She's a badass brutal beauty. Arch Enemy are a giant Melodic Death Metal Band, like In Flames for example... but there are other fantastic MDM bands like Soilwork, Dark Tranquility, Mors Principium East and several others. This is the trademark of Swedish Metal... and I love it! Great reaction man!

This song is a classic. Used to smash it back in high school. Funny that like... I'll watch pisces by jinjer and think "oh wow thats amazing ive never heard someone do that" and at the same time i had known of arch enemy and been a fan for years... i guess it says something to the skill of their vocalists that their being female never occurred to me as something "weird", it was just kind of a thing that only they happened to be doing and i got used to that. I'm not sure if i had a point with all of that, it's just curious to me, i guess. 🤷 Anyway love this band, love the song, great reaction! 🔥

I am exactly the same. I really need to go to wacken. I was going to go last year and drove 1000km to get there and the the rain came and the cancelled any more entering... Was hard to accept. I will be seeing arch enemy alongside in flames in October in London. So I at least have that to look forward to. Not sure when I will be brave enough to try wacken again, so far to drive to...

Hey man, I see you have a lot of fun with Arch Enemy, and believe me, I feel you. Dude I still can't stop bragging that I interviewed their manager (and ex-singer) Angela Gossow last year. (She gave me a whole hour 😍) If you want to listen to older ones, Ravenous and Savage Messiah are amazing, In newer music I personally love the whole war eternal album to bits -- that'S when I discovered the band; but I also have a secret tip for you which is harly related.

Thank you, sir! This song is from 2005. Some call it the golden era. Arch songwriting originates from the Amott brothers. Michael Amott (the guy with red hair) got his younger brother Chris to join in on his project. They wrote most of the iconic riffs together. Chris left in 2012. Michael is still super talented on his own of course. He was and has always been the band leader together with Daniel the drummer. My point is that the songwriting was extra delicious in the years between 1997-2012. Chris has helped out on certain songs after he left like House of Mirrors, one of my fav new era songs. I'd still recommend 1997-2012 for the best stuff. I can't find a single bad track from that time. Alissa has done as nice a job as anyone could have hoped replacing Johan and Angela. I would have loved to have Chris + Mike write more songs for Alissa.

If you want to both see something REALLY WHOLESOME and listen to something REALLY STRONG: ----- Ningen Isu ----- They're a japanese metal band of three; they've been together since the 1987 in a nearly unchanged formation. They're sound is oldschool, we're talking Judas Priest, a bit of Kiss, those were their ideals back in the day, in contrast to many contemporary japanese bands, they sound a lot less like anime intro songs and a lot more western - with one exception. The singer sings like in Japanese traditional opera (not comparable to western opera tradition). They're huge, they've been at it for ever and they deserve every bit of recognition, here are the very few songs I can actively remember eventhough I don't speak Japanese, though I promise about most of their songs would be an absolute adventure to explore): 1) Inochi Urimasu (命売ります) Life for Sale - Ningen Isu kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y3qqgIOcebadbNE -> this one's just a banger 2) Imomushi (芋虫) the caterpillar -- Ningen Isu kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y6etdoCtga1goa8 -> the most beautiful song until you stumble across the lyrics, they're ... unsettling 3) Kagami Jigoku (鏡地獄) Hellish Mirrors --- Ningen Isu kzbin.info/www/bejne/e4Wuq3eEoal0a9E -> this feels like struggle and coping - an uppressive, unsetteling, heaviness is completely lifted momentarily (strangely freeing) 4) Shin Seinen Maegaki (新青年まえがき) New Youth (Prologue) --- Ningen Isu kzbin.info/www/bejne/d6KWaJycaLuBaqc -> this one's a builder ^^

While I love Alissa a lot, check out the former lead singer's take on this from Tokyo in 2008. Angela Gossow is in my opinion even better and the reason we have so many women with harsh vocals today. She even handpicked Alissa as her successor and is now managing the band 😊
