Nah he's right this show had multiple rewrites and reshoots due to how hated his portrayal was in she hulk so yes the fandom did save this show. ( Fun fact in the original script for the show he wouldn't appear in his suit till the 8th episode and it was going to be a court drama with both Karen and foggy not appearing at all par being name dropped)

From what I understand, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, originally titled Spider-Man: Freshman Year was initially planned as a prequel for MCU Spider-Man. It was supposed to focus on Tom Holland’s Peter Parker during his freshman year, covering the six months leading up to his recruitment by Tony Stark. However, since that left little room for meaningful character development, and with Vulture being established as Peter’s first major villain in the MCU, they decided to set the show in an alternate universe since there's not much to work with in relation to this time frame of Peters life. So this is a whole new universe that simply mirrors many aspects of the MCU in its history and visual style. However, since it’s free from the constraints of MCU continuity it allows for the introduction of a larger lineup of Spider-Man characters, allies, and villains that MCU Peter couldn’t have encountered yet due to his established history. Norman Osborn and Oscorp, both of which, so far, don’t exist in the mainline MCU are perfect examples. Seems like Norman is a Tony Stark figure, mirroring Civil War and Homecoming.

10:04 I will say though, the Green Lantern animated series from a few years ago (edit: 13 years ago. God I'm getting old) is actually pretty decent. Josh Keaton (Peter in The Spectacular Spider-man, an absolutely incredible animated Spider-Man show) is great as Hal Jordan, and while the show doesn't adapt a specific era of Green Lantern necessarily, it's a fun mix of a lot of Green Lantern stuff.

Viewer numbers, apparently when a show isn't doing well the reactor(s) will move the show to patreon.
