Be careful buying an off brand tractor, you won't have dealer support if there is a problem, most don't have mechanics to support it and most mechanics won't work on them

Just a word for the wise….NEVER put your hand ( or your wife’s ) on the heads of the bolts while spinning them on or off. If the bolt slips out of the square slot for a split second, it can do a nasty job on the hand. Not only just once but multiple times I’ve seen some awful injuries while doing this including while a co worker was taking them off, the worn down bolt head slipped out and spun slicing finger to the bone and opening palm up cutting tendon…the guys finger never did work right after that. Not saying that this is the best way but we always used a short handled sledge ( sometimes and full size ) and tapped the bolt head while installing then holding the sledge on the head until tight. When removing old ones we just held the sledge over top of the bolt head until impact spins the nut off. Also, when installing new, the sledge hit will help seat the plow bolt in the square shoulder. Also had a co worker do this with leather gloves and still tore the glove and cut hand..

These are carriage bolts. They are inserted into a round hold but the top plate is square and locks the bolt in place. They do not spin when tightening
@bongobill2000
@bongobill2000 5 күн бұрын
@ your right but…. They can easily jump out of the square shoulder while tightening or loosening…when the impact bumps the nut from the back etc.. if you are holding the bolt or have a flat hand on the bolt head and it jumps at the same time time yourself or your partner pulls the trigger on the impact, it’s not pretty…I’ve changed 1000’s of these and you only have to be unlucky once and…….its not good !! Don’t bet your ( use of your hand on it ) they are called plow bolts…blade bolts or cutting edge bolts…even on a new one that doesn’t have a sharp edge , a buddy of mine used to push in with his thumb to hold the bolt in…it popped a little and spun and just the marks on the top of the new bolt took off a bunch of his skin.

Good video if you buy a tractor are skid loader just measure from front of tractor out to bucket end then do the same with the ramp where you load your trucks make sure you got the reach on both pieces of equipment you plan on buying and make sure multi use for more than one job but I would check about making your bucket deeper which makes it longer to reach the center to dump your material in the truck spreader i have two buckets for my tractor the big one loads the dump trucks easier and puts it in the center but got to consider weight in bucket and counterweight on the back unless you really want a new machine i would rebuild the one you have.b but I did all my equipment 14:52 14:52
@bgood424
@bgood424 5 күн бұрын
Whatever machine you get just make sure it has more reach than your bobcat. Plus skid steers will be able to lift more weight compared to most compact tractors so if you plan on using it to unload trucks or lift heavy loads a skid steer might be better.
