Sometime back I was reading a document titled 'reactions to WW1' in a history class. The men were so jovial, because most thought that they had found a sense of purpose. Even strangers and enemies were speaking to one another on the streets, and the women praised the men as they cleaned their guns. Contrast that to a document of the poems written by the soldiers during and after the war, it was brutal. They were traumatized and many wished that they never participated in war. Men in the old times did indeed feel a sense of purpose getting ready to fight, but the real experience of blood, murder etc. is something a war veteran wishes he never went through

I agree and I agree with most of hamzas teachings but with this one I’m unsure as what he’s preaching about modern men in this topic definitely is right but at the same time it’s kind of implying that the men in the war asked for the war and wanted it so they had a purpose when they obviously didn’t.

The early 1900s post Victorian Era were actually not so different to the current millenal era. It was the best timeline to live. They live through industrial revolution, rise of metropolitan cities, and the earliest form of cultural revolution in modern history. But more people are depressed and lack meaning because there's nothing much to do. There are no wars, no crisis, no collapse nothing. This is why the grear war actually of the best interest for the general public of that time. We may have encountered the same reaction to a call of war in the not so distant future.

It’s true that humans grow through suffering, but you don’t want _too much_ suffering; that’s exactly what war is. It’s a very unnatural position for a human to be in

@@sporovid5856 Yeah. Hamza said Jefferson's grandfather came back, levelled up in times of prosperity and provided for his family. But in the real world, those who fought in wars came back maimed and scarred mentally and emotionally. They couldn't even level up. Suffering creates mental toughness, but extreme suffering damages your mental health and entire life maybe.

@@Shoegazebasedgenre0. We lack meaning because we have replaced what truly matters with materialism. God, family, friends...etc aren't prioritized first. A capitalistic society is the reason for our depression. War will not be purposeful, it would only cause grief, trauma and more depression.

Would you like to burn yourself out working for a crappy job just to get shit pay? It literally contradicts the first point of prioritizing mental health.

I understand that people feel overwhelmed in the current life that we live, and its saddening that people choose to end things early. But people dont know any better, and when they wish that they were born in a different generation i honestly feel disgusted not going to lie. You can be a fat bum and get away with it (up to a certain point), in previous generations you would have to be a legitemate king in order to do that. In my opinion we are currently in the best worst period in history, because the world is quite literally a different place every single year. You have unlimited options, but like in the video its like your brain just shuts off. Playing video games to emulate a hero you want to be, whether it be sports, science-fiction/fantasy, or in warfare, is what 90% of video games ended up becoming used as an escape from real life. And i mean, why wouldn't you? They're becoming indistinguishable from real life, and probably even better! I would describe the current period we live in as: an awkward period. The education system is screwing people over and giving people limited beliefs, tunnelvision and it contradicts the real world which is miles ahead. Instant gratification is making people avoid doing hard things, which are actually the things that give the most fulfillment. Right now, the responsibility is all on you! You are the one that decides the way you should live! The old system wont allow you to think for yourself, but the internet gives you all of the information you'll ever need to find your path! Once you find out what you want, the last thing left to do is to take a DEEP dive, without fear, and that dive is the biggest obstacle and why you see so many man retreat!

We are conditioned from a young age that we are facing an economic crisis because of the demographic change. We're taught to work hard, smart, and *a lot* (as opposed to only working smart). Meaning, if you're not working at least 40-50 hours a week + studying for a new degree/career advancement or side hustle, you're kneecapping your career and risking poverty at retirement. And when you're done with your work, you're too tired and burned out to do anything besides watching Netflix and playing video games.

@@oddnybsgarage Hi, it's not really my mindset per se, but this sentiment has been drilled into our heads since like 6th grade. I'm from Europe btw. I'm trying to escape from the rat race as best as i can, but it's kinda difficult considering inflation and now with oil prices and stuff. Not to mention a war potentially spreading.
@doisaEFE
@doisaEFE 2 жыл бұрын
I haven't joined the rat race yet (haven't started working if you don't count my $20/hr part-time job). I don't think I'll work 40+ years like my parents. Since I'm the only child I'll be inheriting around $200k worth of property(ies) all to myself. I know that's not enough, because of that I'll be working for a few years and reduce my consumption in general. Here are the few things I'm doing and will do to leave the rat race sooner than others. I basically only spend money on nutritious food, supplements. No eating out, no food delivieries, no junk food, no expensive unnecessary cuisines. I eat foods such as beans, lentils, yogurt, eggs, vegetables, chicken, fish (healthy foods that have a good price per calorie/protein ratio). I'm practicing a solitude lifestyle because finding like-minded people in real life is pretty difficult. Communicating with people online keeps me sane and satisfied. I'm not looking to spend money on meaningless activities with my friends and waste my time going out. When you hang out with your friends you are committed to something for a few hours, in some cases for a whole day. But when communicating with people online that's not really the case, you can just leave whenever and do what you value or need to get done. I refuse to buy expensive cars, phones. I refuse to buy clothes (my mom is a clothes designer, I get free clothes from her so I don't need to shop for clothes). I refuse to buy things that I don't need in general. Consumtion leads to more consumtion, I know this from first-hand experience. I've bought so many things on amazon, thousands of dollars worth of stuff. All they did was make me joyful for a few days and increase my standards (which is not a good thing in my opinion), all that for me to go back to baseline happiness. I have hobbies, but they are inexpensive/free. I do calisthenics at home, reading books, hiking, spending time in nature, meditating, researching about things I find interesting, learning languages, talking to people on the internet, video games, cooking, journaling, listening to podcasts, watching movies/tv-shows/anime. And lastly I'll move back to my home country once I accumulate enough money to retire because everything is a lot cheaper there as well as free healthcare, no property tax, safer. If you are wondering, I'm Turkish American and I'm currently residing in eastern US. All I want is enough money to retire young and live a minimalistic life. I'm not looking to become an expert in one field to slave my life away 8 hours a day on something I'll get bored in 4-5 years (if I'm lucky). So according to this video, I do have a goal. My goal is to get a good-paying tech job (I have connections, I'm confident getting a good-paying job shouldn't be difficult for me), grind and work very hard for a few years, reduce/eliminate unnecessary consumption as well as pursuing things I'm interested in to keep me sane during this journey to financial liberty. Have a good one everybody and best of luck!

Knowing actual history, I can say that people have always been the same. Technologies we use everyday changed, ideologies have changed, the world has changed, but we have not. You've told a success story at the start of the video, but it applies only to 1% of people. 99% of people have always lived the ordinary life with ordinary phylosophical questions, not knowing their purpose, but answering it through religion, or seeking it by themselves. You said our way to success is predetermined, their was too. They didn't have an option to not be a blacksmith. Heck, most people were farmers with the same purpose in life, just to die. What about war? We live in a world of conflicts. One of conflcts is happening right at my doorstep. I'm not feeling good from it, it doesn't add stenght or purpose. It gives anger and hate, it doesn't stop you from being yourself, it's just screwing up lives of millions peoples you associate with. we're not a generation without purpose, we are a generation that can communicate with the other people across the world. That's it, there is no change except of that. People who felt there is no purpose have always existed and will exist, you can't change it. And about argument that people have had many kids while being 20 - there are many factors to that, like: lack of education, lack of contraception, lack of economic responisbility, high rates of infant mortality, etc. It's however not connected with mental health problems we have today, as we had them all the time.

It's like money. We intuitively understand that the best thing to do with extra money is to invest it so we can have more to spend tomorrow, yet we have not been taught the same with our time and energy. We should be spending extra time and energy not just on just recreation activities but instead invest it in having even more time and energy in the future. That means exercise, meditation, healthy eating, practicing time saving habits and creating new time saving systems for our lives, and so on. It's okay to do nice things to recover from hard work, but sometimes when we have more left to give it should be spent on having more to give tomorrow.

I found my purpose 2 years ago, i noticed my reason to live was to get myself in a crew, a ship crew. Ive tried every easy branch(armed navy and merchant navy)but got rejected for minor health issue that simply dont go along with the line of their recruitment but that actually dont change much in an actual set of situation. Those refusals could have been seen as the end of the road but instead i took them as challenges. Im now doing side jobs in parallel of my studies that involve navigation. It aint the big boat i dreamed about, but i see this as starting from the very bottom to then get opportunities, chances of getting by other means in a bigger ship. Im learning about navigation, how ro manœuver a boat, how to face agitated water, etc in various books, i know my purpose on this earth, and by one way or another, that goal of mine will become reality. Do not loose on your purpose, your reason to live, as its the only thing that drives you back into life when you are derivating, when you are lost at sea.

I am 16, and I have currently done 6 weeks of training ( wednesdays and sundays are my resting days ) I have not skipped a single day, and I have also begun working on my mental health. I see great progress, so far. I don't aspire to be a hyper extroverted Adunace, I will continue to play games. ( For now at least ) And All this progress has had me feeling a lot better about myself, in every single way possible. I have been getting terrific grades, And I am beginning to hang out with actually popular people, I don't act like a moron around people. And that, has left me with an inner joy. Hamza, I hope you see this, and smile at the fact, that you are sucessfully turning people, from Jeffrey, to Adunace.

If you want a purpose go outside and into your communities. Find the oppressed and lift them up. Feed the homeless, volunteer. Join or start a union. Shit, even just working on your fitness for its own sake is something worth doing. There's immense value and fulfillment in being a good man and doing good things. I can relate to this , back when i was younger i was same as everyone else , who was thaught since school days that life was just about getting grades , getting job then rich and then reach and end and be some machine , and it made me confused of what really matters , i used to wake up late daily and just go strait to netflix or videogames and not study or socialize and till a point i stopped enjoying that as i felt like i had nothing to do with life and had no reason for waking up , so then i got fed up of what i did and started praying and thinking deeply of life till one day i finnally discovered purpouse and that life was not only about gaining ones own comfort , suddenly i demanded to my parents to send me back to my native country so that i can join the top school and so that i can learn about my own culture and motherland , since then i have been completely different , i study most out of my entire class , ive made 10x as many freinds as before , i went from a person considered the dumbest to now being known as the smartest kid in entire family , i sleep early and wake up late , i indulge more in meditation but most importantly i have learned to love people and love myself and be happy , so best advice i can give all of you is , JUST MEDITATE and STAY AWAY FROM BAD PEOPLE and just explore through different philophies and look for a contribution towards peace of others be it family freinds or just any one .

If those men were in todays time, they would be going through the same situation. It’s foolish to think that people actually want to go to war. "As men we grow through discomfort" Well with all the verbal abuse I suffered from my alcoholic father and the chronic, overwhelming stress derived from living with basically untreated ASD and ADHD during my teenage years, I should be standing as tall the empire state by now. Yet here I am picking up the pieces to try and at least live on level with other normal human beings simply because what didn't kill me emotionally crippled me instead and my supposed bloodline was mostly composed of beaten fathers beating their sons in turn. The suffering doesn't make the person, the person does. You can just decide to be a good person, your legs don't have to be broken to do so. I wasn't so lucky and have to try and be a good person with debilitating anxiety disorders now, many more I've seen having to try in the aftermath of even worse abuse like my mother or uncle. Cause in reality what doesn't kill you usually just cripples you. A broken leg prevents you from walking right and that's all it does. You gain nothing from it inherently, you still have to choose whether to improve or not just now you have a broken leg that makes it harder.

@@miguellopes2452 Not sure of that's how bones work but, yeah, there are always exceptions. Self improvement is useful and incredibly helpful in many situations. But it's not a silver bullet to every problem. Not everyone is capable of the necessary self improvement in a given area. Nor is it always the main factor which leads to success or averts failure. Case in point, he was raised with an abusive father who was unable to teach him a mindset which would allow for self improvement. Given his ADD, Anxiety and ADHD, it's gonna be harder to teach him that mindset as long as he doesn't have a solid emotional base for support.

@@miguellopes2452 I meant what I said by "cripple". Can it heal? Yeah sure. In the same way? Never, not in what way it was suppose to or what it could be. There's long term consequences for parental abuse, verbal, physical, whatever and especially for people with other disorders like me. Those consequences? Typically mental yeah, "mindset" if you will but they're still real, they *exist* it's not something you can just "turn off". I can't "turn off" the stress response I get from someone simply raising their voice, I can't just "turn off" the long term issues with self worth gained from the anguish that was supposedly meant to "build me up" when all it did was break me down and leave me dealing with it *only* after I finally got out of high school So don't you go telling me about how the problem is "just mindset". No it isn't. The problem is teaching men that suffering is necessary to be a good person and then wondering why said suffering affects those men in negative, often debilitating ways that manifest in things like emotional stunting, secretiveness or alcoholism.

I spent the better part of my early teenage years wondering this same dilemma. It eventually dawned onto me through my own interests in subjects like History and Art of War, that i wanted to have a purpose through conflict. It only made sense, especially for being Finnish, it was my duty to prepare for the inevitable, and having endured plenty of hardships growing up, i felt mentally ready for the service. I wont lie when i say i had never felt as much like part of something bigger than myself than when I was in the Military. I contacted a regional office again this years past January about re-enlistment possibilities, just in time before the February 24th in Ukraine. Ive been to several rehearsals since then and have signed a five year readiness contract with the Defense Forces. I live and work regularly on the side. It aint much, but it makes me feel content. I managed to find a direction in life through hardship and strife. Keep going bros, we're all gonna make it

I've been watching your videos since I turned 16 and you've been a beacon of hope to me after I dropped out of school at 13 eventually going back at 16 despite not having grade 9 I managed top of my class in grade 10 after that however my life went down hill from there; I scrapped through grade 11 and failed grades 12. I tried my best to rewrite but the passion wasn't there anymore I think I may have add and bi polar disorder anyways I lost interest in school ended up in a grocery store for about three months, taught myself how to trade. I spent a significant amount of my 20's unemployed and living at home with absolutely zero friends I was essentially a hermit who did nothing with his life because I thought trading would solve all my problems and I'd be rich. I made about $2000 and lost everything due to self sabotage after that I tried coding but I gave up after I realized that I'd never be as good as someone with a computer science degree so I gave up. I then played chess for a while but the same thing happened, I started too late to be any good so I gave up. That has kinda been a recurring theme in my life where I do something and then get bored even after doing relatively well then I quit. As of today I'm still 24 year old kissless virgin who's never had a girlfriend I don't think I'm ugly because I always got attention from women sometimes men but I just feel lackluster as if I don't have a libido although I masturbate frequently. I don't have a car nor do I have a university degree. I'm stuck at home and I contemplate suicide every day. I started drinking alcohol and smoking weed by myself of course because I don't have anyone. I literally have zero contacts on whatsapp, my fucking mother has more friends than me. My dad on the other hand is quite emotionally distant but judges harshly he told me to kill myself at 22, he said and I quote "no one will miss you". Parents don't think much of me and my mom says I shouldn't have any kids I can feel it she doesn't want me to leave and move out not that I could at the moment. I don't know what to do anymore I got another job, I start tomorrow and I'm scared. I failed at nearly everything in my life even at birth I couldn't crawl till much later that's annoying because everything in my life takes longer than I thought it would. I just finished my 12 year cycle and it's been nothing short of a nightmare I think I might just kill myself before I turn 30 I don't think I have what it takes to be a self sustaining man in this word I have no wings.

Hey Hamza, I have been dealing with this issue for the last 6 months. I don't know why, but sometime during the pandemic, I went through a serious existential crisis out of no where. I realized that purpose and meaning comes from within, and I made my purpose to improve my Health, Finance, and Relationships. But, a part of my Mind keeps thinking those same nihilistic thoughts, it keeps telling me "this is all worthless", "life sucks", "working hard sucks", "why do you have to do anything for life", "what's the point of all of this", then I get some anxiety thinking about the Universe, Space, Time, and infinity of Space. I don't know what's going on, but I am really trying to just find inner peace, trying to accept Reality for what it is, and not dread over what it isn't , and just be happy with my life once again, and look forward to each day. I am unable to do it because my Mind keeps bringing up the same thoughts, I am truly stuck and don't know what to do.

I agree with you but to add, I personally believe the purpose of life when you really think about it is to build yourself up, then reproduce, and finally pass on whatever resources or knowledge you have to the next generation. The problem is although I think technology has done lots of good things for the modern era its also done a lot of bad things and it hurts stupid and gullible people the most. I've seen so many parents out in public simply handing their children an iPad instead of genuinely trying to bond and have a good time with them. Thats upsetting. I also believe another problem is the high cost of living. Back in the day you used to be able to afford a home with about 2-3 years worth of your salary. Now you HAVE to go into debt in order to buy or home or new car (when most people could afford new cars back in the day with cash). Its no wonder why so many people just want to have meaningless sex and surrounding themselves with pleasure and I can somewhat understand it even if I don't agree. When buying a house (which I think is essentially for try to start a family) costs about 16 TIMES the average salary in america of course there are going to be a bunch of jeffreys who just want to stay at home and be comfortable with playing games and eating shit: because they've given up lowkey and they will not admit that.

So does this generation of women still have a purpose? why is it only men take the brunt of being called ''useless'' or ''weak'' what is useless exactly anyway? So what if your not rich or have a shredded body do you think a majority of women have these ''amazing'' body types no infact they are told it's okay to not be perfect( just look at the posters where overweight women are being represented) and are told they should feel ''pride'' for just being a woman and are supported while as a man it just feels like your entire purpose is to compete and to work for women or jobs. So while everyone else is enjoying life your being told why are you so unsuccessful?! why can't you land a date?! how dare you not go outside and party?! look how weak you are compere to other men! And lets just say you listen and do all of these things...then whats the next step...oh yeah you die having spent your entire life chasing the dreams of some made up society. Generations of parents calling their daughters 'princesses' have led the average modern woman into believing they're already perfect and don't need to improve themselves, so you end up with fake inspirational bullshit like this video while red haired narcissistic gold diggers are running around confused about why all the guys that are "the same" don't want her.

This channel is targeted towards men because as men once we exercise our agency we can unleash our potential.We are not women and should not rely on others.Also women tend to be more complacent than men as they value safety and stability.As for the stress I am sorry you should try tackling one issue at the time or you will overwhelm yourself.Hoping for the best

Right now we live in era where our skills🎯 and ability to work without distractions🧘 are the great weapon of men. Hard work, positivity and patience are only way to succeed. 💯We cannot slash swords ⚔️and relay on physical ability💪🏽 as our ancestors, so we need to think 🧠 and do the hard work with patience⏳

Back then, you were born into something- war, labor, etc. Now, you’re born into making your purpose. The way humans have grown… can’t waste this one life we’re living right now!

For everyone out their searching for meaning, I'd strongly consider looking into Christianity. A large part of why past men were so successful is because they believed in a moral calling higher than themselves through God. It's helped me immensely with finding my purpose, and I hope you do well whether or not you choose to pursue God.

i've never like school system, it was holding me back to speak my creativity, but since i've quit school my perception of life has drasticly change, i try to make my mental heatlh better and better with baby steps, school system in france is one of the worst one, people who work in france are push into this non-stop work enviromment especially young people in my age at 18 years old, no one know what it feels to just leave for a moment our work enviromment and go outside meet new people, to increase my social skill last day i've decided to go talk to 2 sttrangers that was young, the conversation was really good and i was welcome with open arm, even one of the person said to me "maybe we will see you to this place next time" i was fullfield with excitement and happyness, people want connection, they are just lost, and there's is like no public dedicated place to meet new people expect bar.
