I never really had an opinion after watching trash taste since it's just a background noise to me and just enjoyed it but after the guest drama permeated outside of the trashtaste subreddit I just had a different view inputted in me and yup I could get easily influenced easily so now I'm gonna have this "another guest episode again" which will probably fade away eventually.

I did mechanical at Coventry. They give you 200£ to buy textbooks you want, give you the needed one, give you a tablet in electronics. We had to build a wooden bridge for a class, used a wind tunnel, 3D printer and disassembled an engine among other stuff. 10/10 would recommend

I took CS and graduated july 2nd to last semester I had IoT and got to play with arduino and such. It was very fun and it was by far the most engaging class. During that time I worked part time in electronics so a lot of soldering and figuring out how things have to be positioned on a PCB. I got to learn some stuff so I'm glad I started. Also helped me pass my IoT class

I know a bunch of engineers from my Uni that did the F1 car thing (it's called formula student). It wasn't even an optional side project for them, it counted as the dissertation for their master's degrees. Most of them really enjoyed it because there was so much practical experience involved compared to their undergrad projects

That guy with the .50 that exploded in hisbface was Scott from Kentucky Ballistics, he had shrapnel all over his upper torso, one piece tore an artery in his neck and he only survived because he put his thumb in the wound to stop/slow down the bleeding. Luckily he survived and started blowing up guns on purpose which is amazingly entertaining.

As a bi woman I really notice the difference between male anime characters being sexy and female characters being sexualized. It's perfectly possible for characters to be sexy without being sexualized, like anime is full of buff powerful men who can beat up any badguy but would never hurt someone who doesn't deserve it, running around all sweaty and doing a bunch of fight-appropriate moaning. But it feels like female characters can't be sexy in their own right when they're sexualized. Like they have to be innocent and asexual while the camera zooms in on their bodyparts. I'd much rather have female characters who are attractive and seductive without being perved on by the camera. When the the sexy scenes exist only because what the camera is doing or some plot contrivance and not because of the way the character is acting, then it's not actually her being sexy. Like if you were in a room alone with her in real life she wouldn't be sexy she'd just be visually attractive, while sexy male characters would probably only be more sexy. You can be both sexy and sexualized at the same time and there are sexy anime women, but it bothers me that cheap sexualization is defaulted to so much. We could have female characters who are sexier and treated with more respect at the same time, it just seems like a win-win situation to me.

The thing with most anime is they are created for their main audience, the japanese. It's the japanese populace that will decide if their manga get adapted to anime. Some of the best manga that i read barely sexualize any sexes and focus on the story, combat and anything aside fanservice rarely get adapted and even if the do it will be way back in the line

i agree. its one of the reasons why i love Arcane so much. Many of the characters are very sexy/hot but it's not really emphasized apart from a certain character who uses her sexiness as a tool. Most of the time the charactera are sexy because they just are. Plus they're also amazing characters
@Twiska2 жыл бұрын
Yoruichi from Bleach is probably the best example of being sexy but still powerful and respected.

I think you're conflating two different things a little bit, characters being "sexy" and "seductive" is one form of appeal, but by no means the only one. It's like cute vs sexy; in the same way sexy seductive characters can be appealing so can shy or cute characters, it's just a different type of character with a different type of appeal. I wouldn't say the "innocent and asexual" characters as you call them _can't_ be sexy just because they aren't "acting" out their sexiness, in the same way I don't think people in the real world _can't_ be sexy unless they're "acting" sexy. I agree anime could do with less panty/boob shots where the sexualization is lazy and painfully obvious, but I don't think we need female characters acting sexy or seductive as the only legitimate way of having sexual appeal

As a medical physicist who focuses on ionising radiation I absolutely love that Will was able to mention equivalent doses and explain how they shouldn't be scared. It's so hard sometimes to explain the risks (and mostly non-risks) of using radiation.
