I really enjoy this record the most of the three, I feel like this album had more to offer rather than the typical teenage drama that was on the previous records. The album tackles real life situations, expressing anger, sadness, regret, and mourning. This was a much needed shift in writing and it has to be one of my favorite albums to date.

Agreed! Rather than half of the songs being about breakups, "Weird Kids" includes songs like "Windows in Heaven" that talk about much more mature topics, such as dealing with death. It seems that the band truly writes from the heart; their songs grow just as they do themselves. Songs like "Attention" that represent the need to redefine oneself also serve as a juxtaposition with the band's new redefined musical style. One other thing to also note is the interesting topic of being yourself or who you want to be("Reflections") and the struggle of doing so("Waiting").

Best part about this song- it really felt straight from Tay. Like, there was a lot of raw emotion in this, and like, that's usually said about ballads and stuff, and I think that's why watic is perfect. They usually write a two-sided song, with Tay and Jordan both singing, but this was really close to heart and for that reason, all of the emotion poured out. Awesome awesome awesome.

Okay, I highly doubt I'm the only one, but does anyone else notice how much hate punk/alternative genre bands like WATIC gets? (sorry if I got genre wrong by the way). The hate usual comes from people who don't really find the meaning in songs (take society for example, songs about sex and drugs are more accepted than songs abot overcoming suicide/depression). Honestly, bands like WATIC, Tonight Alive, Bring me the Horion, Black veil Brides, Sleeping with Sirens,(etc.), get so much hate for being what society perceives as "emo" or "screamo" and it's frustration. The people giving the hate probably don't realize how much these "emo" bands have helped their fans, yes the popular mucic artists help too but so they truly mean it? Most bands I listen to I like to believe (and I can see it being true) that they aren't in music for the fame and fortune, but to see people happy with what the band gives, is payment enough.
