45:45 You're understanding ravenous backwards. Venom does more damage when he's hungry. As he eats, he's being satisfied and thus deal less damage.

I ended up dropping Tasty Brains in place of another Lethal Embrace with Lifesteal modded onto it. Not only does it heal for full damage (which is roughly twice the amount Tasty Brains heals for and almost always heals Venom to full) it does significantly more damage (outright killing most things it touches) and generates Heroism instead of using it

Me too I love venom. He got me into Spiderman and marvel when I was little. I just loved the look. Actually venom got me into comics and graphic novels period. That being said his story in this game is much better than the movie. Man that movie sucked. They really didn't do it justice. The first Spiderman trilogy really dripped the ball on the symbiote are too.

Like I played Iron Man and never looked back on him until I saw your vid about him seeing that I am a total Idiot, and now I'm ending every mission hardest difficulty 3 Stars with him. Well, I must say, I don't completely agree with you here. Normally I do, but not 100% this time ;) I play a Venom deck with 'Apply 1 Vulnerable' on Devouring Strike and Spike Burst. This cards make it very easy to apply that status effect to a lot of enemys per card play. In combination with Assimilation that one stack of vulnerable becomes extremly useful. Just make sure that you k.o. at least one enemy per card play: and you will constantly draw Venoms cards. As soon as all the big guys are all vulnerable the loss of the ravenous stacks won't hurt so bad. And: the Symbiote Bomb Combat item is like a shot of bull steroids for my dark Hunter build. The two copies of Merciless with the 'quick' mod all of a sudden pack a massive punch now whenever I need them to - even if I don't draw Thwip or Crimson Bands of Cyttorak. I just finished off Dracula in turn one: I started the fight with Obsidian Collar, Wrath and Merciless on my hand. That combo and a Symbiote Bomb ended in oneshotting the main man himself. Hi didn't even finish his speech. Epic moment. I'm happy with the DLC, just because of that nasty little item ;)

Good points, I dont run vulnerability simply cause I don't feel he needs it. And you mention comboes with other heroes. My build is sort of a selfish route where Venom does allllll the killing on his own for maximum exp.

Venom is definetely a powerhouse. I like what they did with the character : his legendary card enable us to build something different than "Quick" on everything. His passive is still okay. At least it's not in direct opposition with the rest of his kit like Deadpool. My personal opinion is that he's curently the 3rd best DPS character behind Hunter and Ironman.

I think he actually out performs Iron man! I have both of them at champion level 100, and It appears as if his cards are hitting harder. Ironman however is the complete package, being able to mark and vulnerable his own targets for card play refunds. And he also doesn't have to fish for his legendary, nor does he even need to run it at all. So I agree Iron man is overall better. But I think Venom is debatably doing more damage.

​@@Channel5Gaming With your build, an argument can definitely be made about Venom beeing equal or better than Iron Man. Because you duplicate his Legendary, (which I didnt think about doing before seeing your vidéo), the Venom circle never ends. I still think that boy Tony has too many tools !

I started the Venom missions as part of my NG+ playthrough, and so I think at that point, and due to his quick levelling, he is actually quite useful/powerful (as opposed to getting him when you are already many champion levels in). I haven't upgraded Assimilation yet and even without that I'm finding Venom a lot of fun and able to do good damage. What's strange is that I haven't noticed the bugs you have in regards to the Ravenous stacks removing when they shouldn't - but then again I never had the bugs where Deadpool didn't show up in my character roster either. The only bugs I have encountered with them have been the achievement bug where some of the achievements aren't recognized if you are already mid-game when the dlc loads (part of the reason I started the NG+ was to get the deadpool achievements to be recognized - they were in NG+ but now some of Venom's aren't being recognized properly).

YEah I suppose leveling up he can be useful and feel powerful since the mobs are rather week. His bind is insanely good leveling up, just as spidermans Thwip was! Oddly enough SOME of the bugs didn't show up during my leveling guide thats coming up. But then they showed up later. Doesn't seem to be 100% for me anymore. Wonder what's causing it....

Web toss can get strengthened on k.o. I put that on it to throw a minion into an ally for a card and added +100% damage when venom is at full health on lethal embrace.

I have quick on his lethal embrace right now, but I'm not at the min-max stage. It gives me options to take out elites if I draw it before his legendary during the first or second turn and I still keep the card play. Wait for Storm to come out before playing any more (on NG+) so I don't burn out on the game

IF you watch my modding guide in my playlist, It's extremely easy to get the mods you want. While the guide goes into a lot of detail and seems complicated at first. With practice it becomes second nature, and super smooth to get what you want. For example with Venom, I sat down and modded all his cards to best in slot in like half hour? Also I don't think the modding system was designed to "get the mods you want". I think the dev's intended it to be more of a "roll the dice for a nice bonus" system. So I doubt they will change it.

I cannot confirm 100% but it seems that each hit of Devouring strike against Venom bound target draws a card, I often get 3-4 cards after using it in such manner, I think only thing preventing me from getting 4 cards every time is 12 card hand limit

Venom is super strong and my favourite character. I love him so much I infact waited until his release to even start playing the game. He is by far one of the strongest characters in the game. His legendary changes how you mod him so much and if you play well can make any hand a single turn win in game modes if they allow it. His legendary is crucial to how he plays. Symbiote bind is pointless, sorry not sorry you can kill faster without it. If you are struggling to pull Assimilation then and i mean this with 0 offence. You're using him wrong. I've had a great time with him and Scarlet witch. I use Scarlet Witch with free hex marks and unleashed, Quick toss draws 2 cards on KOS a garunteed Venom if you throw into him. Venom i gave Strengthened on KO to Web Toss and Lethal embrace increasing his damage by 50% (Basically free with Assimilation). Tendril strike An additional chain to tendril strike (3 pulls on minions or kills with Assimilation or a strong dump quick) you are literally wasting your mod the second you use Assimilation because it makes you draw cards with KOs anyway so adding another part of damage. Devouring strike spreads Vulnerable for an additional 50% damage (Free in Assimilation if you get a kill). Assimilation you could go Free but i made mine give 4 heroic. Spike burst i added moderate increase of range you can EASILY wipe screens with this. Tasty brains i have -1 Heroic cost but i hear you can get +2 Heroic on KO, This card is dope for recovery. Insatiable Hunger is a great card and once they fix how his ravenous works will just get better, its already free so what do we mod? Id go with Draws of whatever kind you feel, the last attack so you can do 3 ravenous attacks a row is really good. I feel you've built him a little counter productive.

Great points. Symboite bind is just amazing for EXP and redrawing venom cards. I swear by it and you'll see why in my leveling guide. You can kill faster without it sure, but you're losing out on EXP by doing so. Not struggling to pull Assimilation, will show that in my leveling guide and mentioned its easy in this videos. I actually played him with scarlet witch too, up until I unlocked Assimilation. Wanda is best at marking. A Character who has quick on everything doesn't need a mark support. Strange offers battle item redraws and buffs damage of cards. Just better overall. Strengthened on KO on Web Toss is honestly a good route, and would pair well with tossing them into symboite bind for 2 venom cards. I might actually try this out and see how I feel. Cause 50% damage on Lethal Embrace would be ideal. Tendril strike chain 3 is "Fun" but smoking 3 minions with 1 ability is a waste of resources. Each minion is a potential card draw or heroism gain. And using it to kill one enemy then dumping the rest on a tanky boy, you're better off getting 50% damage instead. As that amounts to more damage. The card draw helps us fish for buffs from our other heroes enabling venom to do more damage overall. Devouring strike vulnerability is a decent idea. But 50% more damage means it will kill anything in the game anyways. Things just don't need to be vulnerable when hes stacking 2400+ damage with 50% damage mod. Assimilation being free is because card plays are best used on Holy Gift, team combos etc.. As shown insasiable hunger with 2 heroism and a hunter doubling, equals 4. And we draw it so often through hitting our symboite bind that we have infinite heroism. Plus if you play it right, you will be playing ASsimilation 3 times per mission for mega exp. And that would be 3 card plays. Spike burst doesn't hit hard enough to take increased range. Im assuming you're not playing on ultimate 3 level 40 then. It relies on the 50% damage to seal the deal. But I suppose thats why you need vulnerability on your devouring strike to enable this. Just increase its range by 25% with the training yard! Tasty brains with +2 heroism on KO would be nice, I havn't seen this myself personally. Insatiable Hunger can only get last attack played. You cannot get draw a card or draw a hero card on Free cards. While you feel i built him counter productive. I actually think our builds are very similar. From the sounds of it, you drop symboite bind for web toss and one extra insatiable hunger for spike burnt Which is something I recommend doing once finished leveling him. And currently I too am running spike burst. So the only difference in our builds is at most a few mods which is hypothetically not all that game changing. So one could say, WE ARE VENOM! All the same ;)

Hmmm You might be right. Wasn't Deadpool's "if the ability kills a target, chain another"? So its a chain sometimes. None the less, Deadpools quick attack isn't viable like Venoms is. So I likely deleted it from my mind :P

If this were a multiplayer game, Assimilation would have been nerfed so hard by now. You draw that on the first round, and you can pretty much faceroll the mission.

No that's not true at all. It's true for this specific game, a post pandemic inflation Era game mind you. It's not true for the rest of their games. Xcom 2 and the civ series are classics. And they had problems at the beginning but firaxis fixes those problems eventually and their games last a long time. I have faith in them. More so than than any other company.

I started a second play through but completely focused Hunter on "dark" powers. I've played through it slowly, meaning I have done tons of side missions between each campaign mission. This is letting me level up and tweak all of the heroes, including DLC heroes, in the campaign. I think Channel5Gaming just grinds his characters up to high levels after he beat the game, so he can see how incredibly broken he can make them.

I bought this expansion on steam a couple weeks ago. I can not reccruit venom due to a bug. I have to talk to Eddie. But he is not there. Under the abbey and unreachable. And I cannot finish the morbius and storm story mission either because of this bug

The bug happens because there is no space on any seat for venom to seat you have to try to manipulate any character into leaving a seat and then he will take his place hope this helps, i did it by buying upgrades at hunter room

am I playing this game wrong? every KZbin vid they show the character stats and they’ve only been ko’d once or twice… HOW? my hunter has only been ko’d twice but everyone else has around 5 and I haven’t even gotten hulk yet… am I just bad? I came for venom advice and now I feel like such a loser

Haha, don't feel like a loser, everyone has their own expirience. While i was bumping difficulty to the max i had a tonn of missions where my heroes were not even somehow usefull, so i had to reload for 20+ times for hour or two finding this perfect balance of getting enemies down and not having my guys ko'ed. Or, well, get ko on someone useless (looking at you, ghost rider) Also hulk gets unlocked at almost the very end, and is great, but.. well, late. And NG+ is bad. Takes too much from you for too little it gives. These builds help a lot, but ultimatly you act first in every fight and dead enemies cannot KO you.)

I was playing with resists midgame and they did save me a couple of times. Also strange has that invisibility card that actually just makes enemeies skip their turn if they target invisible hero. But oh well if i was to replay the game, i'd just go with dark hunter with his strong quick (mods) single targrt cards and then upgrade strange to use streigtened and overpowered items and replenish them. So hunter just single turn decimates every enemy.
